Also, just wonder if this year's trend is going to be similar as in the past .. ie.. more boys than girls ?
No doubt about it! -
hi Just4Fun,
are you a P6 boy or girl ?
fyi - out of 500 kids offered GEP thereabout each year, normally around 350 are boys, 150 are girls. Yes! definitely more boys than girls are offered. -
Was reading this blog by a mother who was forced to take the painful decision to take her boy out from the GE program.

Together with many of her other blogs, it forces me to take a step back and think how I as parent should react if he would to appear before me with the yellow envelope.
Thought it will help many to also reassess their situation in hand. Of course, all kids are made differently thus this is not an antidote or straight forward answer for every parent or kid. We should know our kid and we should speak to them to decide....let them be a part of the process since they will be the main driver in this journey.
My philosophy is that parents are there to provide pointers, provide guidance, provide resources to make sure they start on the same line as their cohort, encourage, support, love them, be there for them.... -

On another note, I think the blogger is a contributor on this forum. -
Anyway, the ACS result thing, I called the school and and was told that the result are released according to school in Alpabetical order. Plus during the first round, I heard some kids got full marks and were told way before the result individually by the teacher. Could this also be the case for ACS? Aiyah, I don’t know lah. Just trying to help. SOme of my freinds are worried about the outcome… Anyway, what will be will be. I simply don’t like the educational system here. Really. Heard also that some rumours has it that the president office are trying to get girls to serve NS? is it true? Or again heresay?

Thanks for sharing. I feel so sad for the mother and child. I have a friend in similar situation, and they reside outside Singapore. The mother has been battling to keep her child in school from day 1. The child is profoundly gifted but is unable to conform to administration. The teachers seem to want the child out at all costs. Even though the country offers better resources than what we have here, even to the extent of having an aide who accompanies the child daily at school, the teachers refuse to have him. My friend has resorted to all means to let her child have an education with children his own age.
