        KS_me:
        Hi All,

I'm planning to put my younger son in a childcare next year.

I just visited Cambridge @ Hougang (Poh Huat). The teacher told me the ratio is 1:11 which I think a little too crowded. I wonder how these 11 child managed to squeez their mattress into that small room with tables/chairs/bookshelfs around

My elder used to be in Joyous which ratio for N1 & N1 is about 1:8. which I find is rather good. I still think at the age of 4, personal touch is very much needed.

Sad to say, the centre closed in 2006 due to the increased in overhead cost.

Well, would appreciate if some of you could share your view on the cc that your child is in now around hougang/serangoon area.
your younger son will be under N1 or N2 next yr? mine is currently N2 this year and is now at Cambridge @ poh huat. current ratio is 1:12
for N2 class, during nap time, they will usually go to another room for a nap. so far, my son is pretty ok with it. I'm quite happy with it cos the ccc will update the parents on the kids with photos posted on the web. They also organise 1 outing per month for the kids too. good to say that, minimum, my son did not fall sick for the 1st 4MTHS with them (touch wood) 😛

          Hi,

I agree. MMI Sengkang is lousy and wasting money. My son is there and it is too late for me to transfer him out since this will be his last year. noticed the teachers’ turnover extremely high.
Noticed my son doesnt learn much and instead only through supplementary classes, he learns more.
So, I suggest, better not to study there. The worst, it is not cheap at all. It’s not worth paying

Checkout My Little Cottage at Blk 195 at Rivervale. I think it is quite alright.

Just a couple points for consideration. Don’t enrol your kids base on hearsay, or internet research. These information may be skewed towards the writer’s view. I suggest you make a visit to your selected few childcares, have a feel of the place, teachers, and talk to the children. Observe the children’s behaviour. The children are the product of the centre. The last you would want is to send your kids to a center and he turns out shy, and less confident.

I dont really agree with Bluebells. Somtime the hearsay and internet search do help for opinions. Talking to the teachers and feel place might not provide the best view. It might be just a marketing tool.

                  Hi,

I'm moving to punggol thus looking out for childcares. So far, I've viewed these 3 childcare and would appreciate any feedback:-

                  1) NTUC
                  2) Sunshine Kids
                  3) Bright Kids at Blk 192

Appreciate any feedback or views you have on these centres. Plus, if you have others to recommend, that would be great as well.

                  TIA! 😉
