All About Preparing For PSLE

On top of these, I feel that do not stress your kids too early... It's a bell curve too. I let my DS take CA1 without muching stressing on him (as it is not added to overall marks). When his marks come down (sure to come down as he's v playful in Feb/Mar period), then i pushed him a bit in SA1. From June onwards, I pushed him real hard. If you push too early, their energy level is very high afterwards, it will drop(cos they get sick and tired of always studying... of course during the intensive grilling :pokeeye: , I treat him to his favourite foods and fruits). So, try to catch the high energy level for prelim.
I planned a schedule for Nov/Dec. Not following it very faithfully...using a little reverse psychology on him now...Let him play all day to see if he gets guilty when I keep quiet.
Was about to ask you when is the right time to push...not too early in case burnt out (real battle is in Oct). So June is a good time to do so ? I have absolutely no idea how to plan. :imdrowning: :?: -

PSLE Oral and listening compre starts in Aug. Prelim in end Aug. 2011 PSLE starts end Sep. FYI, from Aug to Sep, they practically stay in school until 5.30pm or has loads of homework (as in 3 papers per day). So you hardly have time to sit down with him to do your papers. I think grilling starts immediately after SA1 results out.skss:

it depends on your kid's character though. If they are already very good, then let them keep as is. -
Hi skss,
I guess the school will start pushing from term 3.
Maths tutor has already informed me she will be very strict from next year…gave her my blessings. Bcos my boy is still not aware of the seriousness of P6. Perhaps I will cut down when school reopens. In the meantime, I want him to get something done every morn for 1 hour.
Thanks for your advice. -
As my DD scored badly in her MT, I am already starting revision for Chinese yesterday. Maybe just 1 hr of revision per day and the rest, I just let her play. I think if we start to revise their "worst "subject next year, it will be more pressure for them.

Same here. Doing 1 hour every morn for Eng/Chinese and Science (OE or MCQ). To strengthen P5 foundation. Cannot start next year bcos teachers will go 5th gear when school starts. Next year will very busy. -

Hi parents,
I am rather worried about Science and English. I realize from hearing what my friends say that their kids can get A star for Math easily but not many get A star for English and Sci esp English. Is there any truth to this? How to help our kids in this area? -
