Oh dear. So much stereotyping of girls. The posters here seem to imply that brains and beauty can't go together.

I had asked my ds this question many times:

Choose only one answer from the following question

      A. A very pretty girl who is a school drop out.
      B. A below average looking girl from a top jc
      C. An above average looking girl from a tier 2 jc.

      His choice is C!

It speaks volume why attractive looks are so critical to a teenager and of particular importance in the coporate world.

I bet he won't choose a very pretty girl in a top JC too.... or am I wrong? πŸ˜„

From my understanding, HMT bonus points cannot be used for application to RGS, as it is not a SAP school. So essentially, your DD is applying with 258.

But for NYGH, your daughter will be applying with 261 (258+3), as it is a SAP school. So I would think chances are higher for NYGH.

Other KSP parents, please correct me if I'm wrong πŸ™‚

If under S1 posting, 50-50 chance at NYGH. Nobody can tell. RGS does not take +3 into consideration. Why appeal? She already has a DSA CO or under S1?

NYGH's COP last year was 262. RGS's was 260. I'd say the odds are similar because there's minor fluctuations annually, so go for the one you like better.

For the record, I'd like to say that the stereotypes don't always apply (I'm not even sure if they apply generally), and many people unfortunately have very mistaken ideas about what a particular school's students should be like. Very few people managed to correctly guess my alma mater - most people seem to think I'm from RGS (including my JC GP teacher haha). πŸ˜‚

It's also because of the HMT bonus points. RGS does not take it into consideration so NYGH COP might be slightly higher, but around the same.

This year, I realized more people put RGS as first choice. Why is that so??
