Why can't RI open up more classes and accept all GEPpers instead ? I know there are some with GEPpers with low T score, but that is not what they are look at in the first place rite ? Otherwise, no need to identify GEP rite ?
Boys generally mature later and these kids might be doing very well later on as they mature.

Why only GEPpers who should have this priority - just becos they are identified at P3 level? In this case, all parents should go drill their kids for GEP (afterall no need to worry about T-score or sec sch thereafter). Your same arguement of later maturity can be applied to mainstreamers as well.....so RI has to open more classes to cater to whole of Singapore kids??

And why must it only be RI? Singapore has so many schools, and RI is not the only school who can groom your kid!

Come on, 别钻牛角尖. There are lots of good schools out there. Have you consider that your GEP kid may probably fare better in a different environment as compared with the competition he will face in RI???

Please advise! I have gotten 246 for PSLE with a merit in hmt, so my total score is 248. I'm a girl and live in Jurong West. Any recommended school?

You can consider Bukit Panjang Govt School, Nan Hua, School of Science & Technology.

hi im a girl and this year pale result got 258. HMT got merit. I noe i cun use the bonus points. what school do u think i should put for my 6 choices? i don't think i can get into NYGH or RGS, but is NJC good?? Will i have chance? o.0 Im also quite keen on Cedar IP. should i put

              1st-NJC/RGS
              2nd-Cedar IP
              3rd-cedar o level
              4th- SCGS
              5th- st.nicks
              6th- ??
IM REALLY NOT SURE. PLS HELP THIS POOR GURL HERE!!! (desperate O.O)
If you are really keen in RGS, you can put that as 1st choice. Maybe you can get it if the COP drop.

Your T-score is quite high and you have quite some choices. Other than what you have mentioned, you can also consider IP schools like Dunman High, River Valley, and girls' schools like Crescent, MGS. As to how you put your choices, I suggest you look thru the school website or visit the school, evaluate their environment, philosophy, syllabus (IP vs O Level), CCAs, etc. before you make your decision. It is really a personal choice and we can only guide you with listing the choices you have. You should rank them based on your preference.

Thanks Ms Tay 🙂 my dd only p4 this year, am not in a position to give any advice, hence only can be a silent reader. I hv gained lots from helpful n experienced parents here n really appreciate. DS got 257+2, aiming hci. With this score, do we need to appeal? Really get lost. What is the correct procedure? Please advise! Thank-you!!!!

Have you accepted any DSA offer? If not, you are eligible for S1 posting. Put HCI as your 1st choice if you want to go there. Unless you are rejected, then you need to go thru' the appeal process.

Currently, those submitting appeals are the ones with DSA offers at hand, and they find out they qualify for their preferred school and want to go there, so they submit appeal to their preferred school.

Thank you pen88n for your clear explanation. :thankyou:

DD got 247. Trying to appeal to scgs. But agonizing over the 2nd choice cause wthat will prob be a more confirm place. Nan hua or bukit panjang govt ?

DD prefer Nan Hua cause the classrooms are air conditioned, their CCA. I like bpgh because it s like only 1/2 hour from where we stay compared to Nan hua that will prob takes 1 hour including walking (15mins). Am concern with the Chinese environment cause dd is not really strong in her Chinese but she said she s ready for this challenge and think that it will help to improve and maybe stir her interest in the language.
But putting the 2 on the table , which school is a better choice cause their cop are the same ?

                        Any one can help ?
