Call for http://singaporemaid.blogspot.com to be removed

Just curious, Chu Liu Xiang, do you engage a maid?
-
LOLMum:
Exactly. My maid is posting comments about us on her FB, revealing our travel plans, posting pictures of herself taken inside our house. Who's there to protect us? Can I ask her to remove her FB account?so we have mom and the many groups looking after the maids, who is looking out for the employers?????
we dont have a voice in the papers, organisations etc to fight for employers.
anyway, some complaints by the maids in mom facebook are really :siao:
Since a lot of maids have access to internet nowadays, they can by all means go to this blog and post their opinions too. They can also use \"anonymous\" or their real names. They are not as helpless as you think. -

very sian with all these maid's issues. though i dont have a maid now, all these issues really turn me off.
if you ask maid to remove it from her fb, she will definitely block you from viewing hers and you would never know what else she would be posting. -

Meanwhile she's sharing everything to her so 800 over so-called friends, many of whom she's never met people. Who knows how many bad guys are out there :scared: . -

the balance of power has tilted : maid has better leverage these days

I'm a maid employer but that does not mean my support will automatically go to all employers. I'm the same but different.dimsum:

I don't believe all postings by employers (here and elsewhere) are true. There're good/bad employers and maids.
My stand is to support the right cause and not the person,ok? If there's a need to be critical of an employer who's in the wrong then I'll do whatever I can to re-educate him/her my way.
I'm like an independent candidate in an election with an independent mind and not tie to any organization to move in a headless herd

Don't we, as employers, talk about our maids too? Regardless of the method use employer/maid talk about each other, ok?

As for taking pictures and travel plan being uploaded onto FB you already admitted that you did not inform your maid initially not to breach your privacy in the other post, right? So, why bring up again?
:xedfingers: -
On both sides it is the "bad penny" that spoils it.
As employers we don’t want our maids to have FB because of the small minority who have been bad-mouthing their employees and/or violating privacy.
Looking at it from the maids’ perspective, it is unfair that employers who have unreasonable expectations or have a grudge against their maid are able to post personal details on the blog.
However, just because a few maids are abusing FB does it mean that we have to stoop to their level? Maybe what we need to do is to show them the correct way to conduct oneself. How can we expect them to show restraint when some employers are unable to do so?
Again, just think if your boss was angry with you and he/she went onto a blog and posted your name, IC and your supposed crime there for all to see and you didn’t believe that you had done anything wrong but it prevented you from getting a job somewhere else. How would you feel?
