HI HappyH,

Thanks for re-posting verykiasu’s post again…I missed it earlier while trying to find this thread.

P5 has been a tough year and I was informed that it’s preparation for P6…which is why so many tough topics were thrown in…kids were also thrown in the deep end of the pool.
Many friends with experience told me this Nov/Dec is NOT playtime…but reinforcing and strengthening P5 subjects…this I strongly agree bcos time passed so fast and we didn’t have chance to go in-depth. Not long after introduction, it was force-fed without deep understanding before SA2.
Next year this time, He can play to his heart's content after PSLE...provided he has done his best. Have bought those assessment books to focus on those weak areas. Now have to plan when to 'cut ribbon' to have official opening

I'm in the same shoes. Those grades were depressing for us but I'm not sure how my DS feels about it. Still playing everyday.......... today just bought 2 assessement books for him and he's already looking so bored at the sight of them. I wonder when we can \"cut the ribbon\"!

Grades were depressing...but no point crying over them...just have to move on. I was looking high and low for this thread...wondering where it has gone to....with release of PSLE results and Sec school posting, this has gone to Page 2.

My son is like yours...doesn't seem to feel anything about the results ...playing and playing everyday :stupid: when he has to do corrections, he can still get them wrong :slapshead: have talked to him nicely and also scolded. NO EFFECT...somehow I wonder when he will wake up.
Even if I don't allow my DS to play toys with his younger brother....he'll just waste time in the study room \"playing\" with whatever he can improvise from his desk! Getting any work done is last on his list it seems.

HI fifiyeo,

Since it’s the holidays, the best part is sleeping in late and not having to look at the time…that is luxury to me. Math & CL tuition still on-going…pushing a little hard on EL Synthesis, Cloze and Graphic Stimulus/Comprehension MCQ as EL enrichment resumes only when school reopens.

We’re into December already…how fast time flies.

Hi Janet_lee88,

Oh at least you still manage to push a little in some areas. The only thing that will inspire my son to wake up early during the hols is cycling time with his dad and cartoons. Otherwise he'll simply remain in dreamland for as long as he can!

Yes, time flies, this time next year I hope he's not the one crying! CL tuition still ongoing. Other subjects he'll just wait till I scream my head off before he gets anywhere near his desk. :slapshead:

I aked him if it ever worries him when he looks at his report book. He simply nods and says sorry mommy plus promises that he'll work hard.
The next minute you see him running around and playing again just right after getting a lecture. 🤷

Hi
This scenario sounds familiar. My daughter is also doing the same although she is not taking PSLE next year.

Anyone can share vitamindz science?

my boy's sch used these papers this year as part of their P3 science learning.
i find them quite good. you mean we can buy outside at Popular bookshop? i didn't see them from Popular bookshop....

Vitamindz science is good.....
my gal's sch used their papers too....
during the sch holiday, they came to my gal 's sch to impart some answering skills of OE questions (think need to pay for it)....

i dont see it selling in Popular.

No, Vitaminz is not in Popular. My school bookshop sells it. You can check in your school bookshop as well. Or even you can request for it. That is what my friend did last year.

Hi all,

I had joined Kiasuparents a few years back but had not been active. My ds is taking PSLE next year so I find this tread very interesting. I just cleared his cupboard to make way for P6 textbook and assessment books. Am looking for some good Science and English assessment books. Please recommend me.
