        dimension:
Was it hard to decide on scgs? Surely there are other nearby schools u considered too? What made u all decide? Can share? Thanks

Mainly there are no schools near my place that is good. Anyway, SCGS is affliated.

I sent my dd to SCGS because I was an old girl (am an OLD girl!), even though one of the methodist schools with affiliation all the way to JC is a 5 min walk fr my house. And I have no regrets at all. DD loves the school, loves her CCA, doesn't have any tuition (not even for Chinese!) and is still coping well. And has enough time to watch her favourite Korean drama at 7pm everyday! She also has time to run over to play with our neighbouring kids everyday. But she's someone who can't keep still - just like her mom I suppose 🙂

I do volunteer work in my neighbourhood committee (to get to know the neighbours, la) and volunteer in school (to get to network with other mom's). I find it really helps. As a FTWM, sometimes neighbours end up as my ad hoc child minder (and I, theirs, too). And, of course, volunteering in school has innumerable returns - for dd too!

Highest T-score is 274. I heard about 20 or 10% scored more than or equal to 260.

Thank you[/quote]It is a different bus operator for Clementi and Jurong West. My dd is in 12-seaters van and the bus only picks up girls in Jurong West area before heading for school via PIE. My girl gets up the bus at around 5.50-5.55 am too but she is not the first one on the bus.

Clementi is nearer to SCGS but I do not know what is the bus size and how the bus route. Most buses are mini vans and they reach school between 6.30 to 7 am. My dd's bus reaches school at 6.40 am. The buses have to arrive early because they want to avoid traffic jams plus they need to rush off to pick up workers. Between 6.50 am to 7.20 am, there will be a traffic jam from the highway exit to the school.

If you could afford the time, it is better to send your girl to school directly. Go by Ulu Pandan Road --> Farrer Road --> dunearn road. I do not quite know the traffic on those roads in the morning but you would have avoided the traffic at Steven Road exit and along Dunearn Road stretch where the other schools are situated.
