      I called MOE this morning. They told me that the recommended class size is 40.[/quote]

      4M=44 students. Boy complaint the table is too low so his legs are in a award position. Said the chair is wobbly…

        3M = 46, 3N = 39.

        Total = 85/3 = 28.33 (Round to 30)

        The school should stick the old system where having 3 best class like 3M, 3A2 & 3S. Each class allocated to 30 students just nice & the teacher would have better attention.

        Do all of you think we should then petition to the school to reduce the class size? Will this upset the parents of the affected students ?

          I have seen the chairs and tables at the school, they are a little 'small' for students of this generation and should be upgraded.

          Dino mummy, the wobbly chair should be raise to teacher, otherwise, should there be an accident (touch wood), who is accountable? The student himself?????

              My kid is not in RMPS but her school's class size is also 44 students. Since MOE recommends 40, guess the school has the discretion to up that a little (ie. by no more than 10%)

                  So MOE recommend maximum 40 students in a class? What is the minimum required floor area of a classroom?

                  The requirement height of table & chairs? Minimum floor area a student should occupy?

                  All these factors the school should be evaluating & study to determine the group size for a class.

                    The school will be responsible. Occupiers' Liability?

                      Hi Dinomum,

                      My boy told me that there are more 4A2 students transferred to 4M today. So, the class size is about 47-48 or more. Unbelievable!!!

                        :yikes: :slapshead: then how many in 4A2?

                        Any reason given for this transfer?
