How much is it per term?

It is $420 per semester. There are 2 semesters in the year. First Time registration Fee is $32.10

And why is it so popular & need to queue

Both my kids in Nafa Arts for 3 years. Didn’t continue after that. Not that Nafa art programme is not good. Just that it’s not meeting our specific needs because it’s rather generic. It’s meant to be a ‘mass’ art course


dd1 demonstrated talents in sketching so we decided to target her interests & let her pursue still life sketching with another art school. She joined their secondary art class even though she’s underaged. Nafa is less flexible in skipping that many levels so it’s too restrictive for her in that sense. I feel that pace in arts should not be categorised strictly by age group

dd2 clearly has no talent in arts or art & craft, so 3 years exposure is good enough for her. Although she does enjoy meddling in craft work but then again, she has many interests so craft work is just one of her many interests. After consideration in terms of logistic, we decided to withdraw her too, not necessarily need to go all the way to Nafa just for craft work

Overall, I would say the experience with Nafa is good. Just that my dd1 has outgrown Nafa Arts

As a mother, i know that my child likes art and I want a good programme for him. Tried GLOBAL art which was no good at all. Just colour colour and every piece looks almost the same! and all the kids work also looks almost the same! No creativity!
That’s waste time and waste money.

So when I heard that NAFA is good, I went to q up.

Rather ‘waste’ 3-4 hrs q-ing than to waste one term of my child’s time with a lousy programme.

I guess this is the same thinking for all other enrichment programmes as well.
Better go to a good tuition ctr that you’ve heard from freinds than to look at advertisement and sign up.

I will tell you more once my child starts the NAFA lesson.

Sent dd to global art when she was a preschooler. Agreed with you on the lack of creativity.

She did learn some colouring skills such as mashing up the pastel colour for floating effect sort of technique. Helped her to win a couple of small scale colouring competitions after a few months with global art. So I won't say global art is entirely useless.

However, there's only so much that can be learned on colouring alone. So I guess global art is good as a short term course, probably 6 to 9 months is enough, for parents who wish to introduce their younger kids to some systematic colouring techniques

I heard there is always a long queue for NAFA arts....wanted to find out from parents here how early do u get to queue on the designated date for registeration inorder to get the best chance? Any other information needed? Planning to send both my gal and boy for Arts lesson next year...already requested to be in the mailing list.

NAFA will send you a letter telling you when's the registration date. Some parents reach the registration place 2 hours earlier before the registration time starts. So, be prepared. :evil:

Was going to be there 2 hours before until I read somewhere on this forum that a parent started queuing at 6am! I had only one slot in mind so I decided not to take a chance. Was there at 5.45am and guess what? 55 people in the queue before me! First one was there at 3 am! You get the idea. :scared:

I walked in to an empty room half hour before registration closes and happen to get the class I wanted. I was in and out within 10 minutes.

My DS started with NAFA since he was 5 and this is his fourth year. His interest in arts has grown tremendously. I must say many of the art teachers are very qualified and they have been with NAFA for many years and highly regarded. DS art teacher last year was in headlines cos she painted one of the NEL train station.
