Wow, you are really familiar with the schools in AMK. Do you have any recommendations?

Hi there, really benefitted from all the sharing by the doting parents. Has anyone got any comments on Townville Pri? I will be going for balloting for Anderson next week and would like to be prepared just in case.. Am thinking of either Mayflower or Townville as my 2nd choice... Welcome all comments and thoughts

Hi nat_mom,
How was your balloting? -
Hi Smiley
My girl got in to Townsville
Likes their wide range of CCAs, spoke to the principal and teachers, think it should grow under this new principal. Saw his past track records under Woodsgrove was quite impressive. Staff there were helpful, even the security officer. Unlike AMK and Mayflower pri, where the staff were very unfriendly. -
Wow. Great.
For me, have registered my dd in AMK primary school as it's my hubby's ex-school. Initially, we thought of going to Anderson too, but heard from one of my dd's teacher that AMK standard is improving.
Anyway, hope for the best. -
Yup, heard that AMK has changed their way of teaching, more towards learning through play..and they just had new principal too. Good luck

Hi nat_mom,
Any P1 preparation yet? -
Hi Smiley
I didn’t send her for any P1 preparation class. She has been attending piano, ballet, phonics since last year. This year i got her started in abacus, Chinese, innovative drawing and swimming. Will be stopping her for abacus and phonics soon. My girl is quite disciplined, eg she will learn 2 words for ting xie every day and test herself. Other than piano, the rest were requested by her. She had asked me to help her source for Maths enrichment, but i am thinking of enrolling her only when she gets to P1. How abt your girl? -

 jedamum, I think your son has got a worthy challenger for the Most Kiasu Kinna Award. nat_mom, it's one rare kid you have there! -
Actually my focus is more on character development and not academic all along. But each time she learnt that her classmates are having certain lessons, she will requests to learn too. At times i will just try to brush it off until she remind me at least 3 times then i will take it seriously. But each time i will tell her that she must follow it through(till i think it's time for her to stop) or there won't be any more new lessons for her. I want her to stay committed and focused in whatever she do. So far, she has been coping well..it's me who need to convince her that she doesn't need certain classes anymore. I think when she's in P1, i will only let her continue piano and Chinese lessons. Her sch offers ballet, just not sure if she can start that in P1? I dun think she's really that keen in piano, but she did it for my sake as she knows i really hope she can play it well.
