During the recent prearation for SA2, i dreamt of myself taking PSLE (though ds is still 5 years behind)!! And to my surprise, i could answer most of the questions, BUT, i did not check. Even requested the teacher, in my dream he was that same teacher iwhen i was taking my PSLE, wow that was over 2 decades liao, i told him PLEASE, MR XX, MAY I HAVE MY PAPER BACK TO CHECK, I DUN CHEAT, I PROMISE…And the next moment, i saw ds paper! Oh no his MCQ questions were in a MESS!!! In my dream, i was telling myself "Siao liao…Siao liao…" And that was only a dream duiring the preparation period…

Today is Day 1 for P3 dd's Paper 1's.
I usually don't get stressed over exams, maybe that's why my dd's such a coolcat. However, after joining this forum, some stress is starting to creep in. I think I am quite unlike most parents here. I don't look through my dd's school work. I rely on her to tell me on how she's coping. Once in a while, I'll get her to do some Sci revision on the assessment book as her FT is already doing Fabian Ng Math and Teacher@Work Synthesis in the class. Exam preparation means doing the past year papers of 3 top schools, excluding English. I'm ok as long as she averages in the 90s for Math, Sci and Eng and manages to stay in Band 1 for Chinese. Never aimed for high 90s - mebbe we should do so as I now learn from this forum that we should aim stretch our child to their full potential. -

That's quite high for an average
Oh yes, you will be motivated after joining KSP forum :celebrate: -
90 average? :!:
Wow! :salute: -
kiasimom:
I think this average 90s differs from school to school so better don't use it as a benchmark and pressure your kids. Every school's standard is different, it would be enough to look at school's cohort's average to set a goal if you must otherwise all the kiasu-lets will suffer if everyone starts thinking 90s as an average is the way to go. Then the exam stress will heighten for parents in inevitably...... Just my 2 cts.

Huh. is 90s as average for P3 SAP school high? Thought most parents here aiming for the sky. Looking at her level's SA1 median, she is above average but not outstanding cos she was only in the 12th position in class. Furthermore, it doesn't help that 2 of her old friends from another school are what I would call creme de la creme among the 9yos :!: and have already been spotted as potential top PSLE scorers by teachers. So my dd has always been kinda living under their shadow, in my eyes.

My son is in a SAP school and if he averages above 90 for all his subjects I will walking around with a silly smile permanently etched on my face. He doesn't and so I've a normal face
He is supposedly in one of the better classes in his school, so I suppose he is \"normal\" as well, for which I'm grateful.

Boy, can ds blow up. His face turns all red & I thought I saw smoke coming out at the top of his head. When given that look, I sure :scared: Very stress when trying to beat the traffic just to be on time.
Haha! I can totally relate to that. My dd will give me a frown & reprimand me 'You are late!' She expects me to be the first to pick her up, otherwise she will nag nag nag who left before her, count down she is the second or third last to leave, why am I so late, blah blah blah
If I am on time, she will give me the sweetest smile & say 'I miss you today'
