        Superbugs:
why you have made the decision or why you made the decision?
Hi Superbugs. Could you provide more information about your question?

        Normally, we would say:
Why did you make that decision?

        We could also say:
Why have you made the decision to listen to Ridcully rather than other teachers?

        Rgds

              Hi,

I need advice on how to answer a comprehension question.

For a question as follow :
Who do you think Mr Tan was?

Can it be answered as :-
              Mr Tan was Jennifer's father.

Or must it be answered as : -
I think Mr Tan was Jennifer's father.

              Thank you in advance.

                  Hi

                  Good Morning.

I am not an expert but would like to try to answer your question.

From Longman Mastering English Grammar and Vocabulary, neither takes a singular verb.

From Practical English Usage, the verb can be singular or (in an informal style) plural.

Please refer to the reply from this link.

                  http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/learningenglish/grammar/learnit/learnitv113.shtml

Also, you may wish to refer to rule 11 of this link.

                  http://www.grammarbook.com/grammar/subjectVerbAgree.asp

So, I am more inclined to go for option (2).

                  Best wishes

Hi Tianzhu, no worries, I would appreciate any form of help. DS had the same answer as you but the answer sheet says (3). I had the same opinion as the above for the term 'neither' so just want to double check before declaring the answer sheet wrong... ๐Ÿ˜‰
