      Hi Luanee,

You would have better chance if you move within 1km of Henry Park since no balloting for within 1km this yr. I was rejected by NYPS for PV but still managed to get a place in Ph 2C w balloting, so, don't lose hope 😉

        just to share some new fr NHPS and HPPS ;

what i understand ( fr NAN HUA principal ) she said , they’ll hv a choice to
pick who they want required , needed by the schoolb( would not say
guarantee !!! ) that want to see what u can give to school ; eg…
learning support … able to teach enrichment classes Eg… Table tennis
        Dancing , Volleyball , Art Club… CCA .
All interview are HANDLED by Principal ( NAN HUA ) . Some hv to go thru panel interview , Some may hv to go through interview .

        1) The number of PV in Henry Park Pri Fr 80 to 20 over, this yrs .

2)The number of PV in Nan Hua Pri about 30 over , every yr .

GOOD LUCK to all Parent .

Phase 2B in not just for Volunteers but also Clan / Crassroots .

Did u know this is the first year that HPPS has no balloting for <1km? And it actually informed parents of the balloting initially, 55 parents for 53 places. Then last minute they realised there were 2 pairs of twins/triplets (which count as one applicant actually) and scrapped the balloting!

As long as there is balloting, there would be a chance of not getting it. Of coz there are ppl who get in with balloting under slim chances, but I do not want to undego such stress. Don't think I am the lucky type also, lol.

Let's say I'm willing to consider any property within 1 km...I wonder if we can print a detailed map to list all properties within 1km of the school?

Else, the most accurate manner is to first have an address in mind and go pay SLA for the search of the distance....

cheaper way is just all the Pr Sch to check if property is within 1km.

Haahaa...thanks. But, I have no property in mind. So I thought I am going to be very open minded so as long the place is within 1km of the school... 😉

At least going thru classified ads would be easier

VooVoo, note that some schools still need to ballot for <1km addresses. So best is to choose those that need not ballot for <1km traditionally. Which areas/schools are you looking at?

You can use this guide to check the distance http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/content/measuring-home-school-distance

For 2004-2008 registration, NYPS balloted under phase 2C for <1km except year 2007. Of course, the chances are rather high, but still the risk is there...
