      Go on, argue that even after divorce so long the father/mother keep up with the maintenance, custody visits, etc and it is ok to divorce. Just like it is ok to be morally unsound but still can work professionally. Be my guest.

      Life is not only about black and white lah. It has many shades of grey.

      What's wrong with divorce by the way? Divorce will sure harm kids? Kids in an always violent dual-parent family will definitely be better off than kids in a peaceful single-parent family? It is this old-fashioned thought of some that lead many couples and poor kids in miserable marriages and perhaps one day, one kills another to end the game.

      I also don't agree with people who are involved in EMAs are ALL morally unsound...

      Again, 清官难断家务事...

      Of course if you look at everything individually, it is no big deal. Drug abuse is no big deal, you only harm yourself. Steal from the rich is ok, after all, the rich has excesses. Anyhow litter is no big deal, how much rubish can I generate? But as a whole? Just take the case of drug abuse. It does appear if someone don't treasure his life and want to abuse drug, it is no big deal. However, if we look beyond a drug abuser, it involves drug trafficking, sydicate, pushers, money laundering, etc. We don't have to discuss the social cost of all these examples I cited. I believe you get my point.

      We are not robot, our actions reflect our values. Granted that a person who involved in vice, ema, etc might still be able to do his work professionally but I rather don't take chances. I don't know when he will compromise standard and value again for own interest.

        emm...your examples cited out of context...

        Yes, it is a matter of whether people want to 'take chance', just like the same as I am 'taking chance' to still take my male friend who frequents prostitutes as a good friend coz I know he will be there anytime if any of us (childhood friends) needs his help. The 'brotherhood' / 义气 among us got nothing to do with his prostitution...

        PS: Offhand, I think I know at least half of dozen of people who are involved in EMAs and only one of them I think is morally unsound while the rest they have their own 'legitimate' reasons to do whatever they are doing. Many times, EMA is just a 'loss of direction' and the straying one (be it wife or husband) will return in time...

        It is 2 different things. I wouldn't abandon my friend too if he is guilty of ema or visit prostitutes. But that doesn't mean ema or visiting prostitutes is no big deal or a right thing to do. Sometimes, we simply justifying and rationalising somethings which we clearly know is wrong. Period.

          Prostituion cannot be compared to drug abuse. Otherwise, prostituion would have been banned by law. In fact, modern research proves that the social cost is lower if prostitution is legalised than to have it remain underground. That is the reason why it was legalised. Drug abuse cannot be legalised because it can harm lives just like motorists are against the law if they don’t wear helmets.

              Chanced upon this news and find relevant for the 'discussion'...

              I have a friend who behaves like the woman mentioned below (but she only goes for younger (not underaged) men whom she will wine and dine). I believe she has some psychological disorder (due to childhood trauma) that she doesn't admit and refuse to fix...
              High flyer at work but becomes 'maniser' at night. 'Intelligent' woman who will never play with people she knows...

              PS:
              Many people look 'normal' on the surface with the true face only they know themselves...
              Life should be very simple if only we look harder,
              Our discontentment and disappointment in life
              can quickly turn us into a person we wish we are not
              But we need this \"fix\" to maintain our sanity.
              How sad .......insider :gloomy:
              But such is life...does'nt mean we dont meet
              them it does not exist...
              Many of us live double life...
              We wish we could be just our plain self..
              May be its a coping mechanism
              Watever divine or Saintly you may believe in.
              I think this is the better of the options in
              coping these days and age.....

              May all of us be happy :hugs: :hi5:

                The principal’s identity (with pix included) already exposed in another forum. Think it would be hard for him to return to the education sector. An educator, what more a head of school, is expected to uphold a higher moral standard, so no school would want to hire him again.

                With these recent sexual crimes involving educators, hopefully MOE will be more stringent in its selection of teachers and principals. Then again, if a person is careful to hide his/her sexual secrets, it’s hard for others to assess them.

                  Sorry, but by saying this, you are inadvertently giving alot of men the excuse of straying. Many men involved in affairs always say they’re torn because they also love the mistress.

                  As for Goh Keng Swee’s case, if the public had known at that time, I believe most will frown on it considering the older generation being more conservative. That’s why I believe he married her only after stepping down.
                  His children, seemed unwilling to talk too much about this union and still can’t come to terms with it after his death , I believe.

                  And I won’t call him wise for that, my 2cents.

                    \"越来越多人 求助心理医生。团圆饭前 赶去嫖妓\"

                    - all these people better seek marital counselling at once to salvage marriage & before situation worsen. got proper marriage, don't want to cherish your spouse, your family properly. something very wrong ! before CNY Chinese reunion dinner, rush to seek prostitute.
                    It's not so much about their marriage but more to the sick addiction of hiring prostitutes to live their fantasies..
                    1.... the kind of fantasies they either don't expect their spouses to do or;
                    2.... the kind of fantasies their wives can't/don't want to do;
                    3.... the kind of fantasies they don't want their spouses to do;
                    4.... the kind of fantasies they \"think\" their spouses cannot do.

                    Then again if young chics (spring chickens) are what they're looking for, it's chop plus guarantee their wives cannot bring to life that kinda fantasy no matter how they try to fantasize. :roll: No matter how you iron oso skin still wrinkled. 😂 Unless wives agree to take from butt to inject/put everywhere else.. :idea:

                      So in layman terms, can I conclude that this P is charged for being a Pimp? A pimp is illegal, is it?

                        I don’t think anyone on this forum supports or advocates EMA. That is clear to me. However, when it happens, I believe what some are trying to say (insider is one of them) is that there is no need to mass persecute the person publicly as everything happens for a reason, right or wrong reasons, usually the reason is unique to the person. People need the space for corrective behaviour and people need time to reform. Speaking generally about the bad of EMA is fine but if constant remarks on a person who has committed the error, we are not giving the person room to breathe and change if specific remarks are directed at them constantly. I always believe pushing a person to a corner is also pushing ourselves to a corner in our mindset.

                        So far the discussion on EMA generally is not unhealthy, that is fine as long as we do not keep pushing the hypotheses related to EMA directly onto specific individuals especially when we know them not personally.
