Actually my focus is more on character development and not academic all along. But each time she learnt that her classmates are having certain lessons, she will requests to learn too. At times i will just try to brush it off until she remind me at least 3 times then i will take it seriously. But each time i will tell her that she must follow it through(till i think it's time for her to stop) or there won't be any more new lessons for her. I want her to stay committed and focused in whatever she do. So far, she has been coping well..it's me who need to convince her that she doesn't need certain classes anymore. I think when she's in P1, i will only let her continue piano and Chinese lessons. Her sch offers ballet, just not sure if she can start that in P1? I dun think she's really that keen in piano, but she did it for my sake as she knows i really hope she can play it well.

 Wow, are we talking about a 6 yrs old child?
ChiefKiasu, you are absolutely correct!
nat_mom,
Congratulations, what an independent girl you have.
If your girl is going to maintain as she is now, I will think she will perform
academically.
For my girl, she has started reading class since last year and Hanyu Pinyin class this June. Others are swimming and piano. -
Hi Smiley
Does your girl practise piano everyday? Mine doesn't, only practise on alternate days and she will just play each song for 2 times. I do not want to stress her that much as i am afraid it will make her resists piano. Her classmates practise everyday for at least half an hr. Guess each child is different
I can't complain much as generally she's independant and quite disciplined compared to most of her peers, so i am happy as long as i dun get problems from her

As day time, both my kids are taken care by my in-laws. So my dd has only late evening to practice. She will try to practice 3 times per week around 20 to 30 mins each time.
Don't think we should compare between children. As all children are different, and we should be thankful if our children have put in effort to learn. -
Yes, totally agree..they are all sweet in their own ways

ChiefKiasu:
 I think nat_mom's kid will clinch this award.nat_mom:
...She had asked me to help her source for Maths enrichment...
 jedamum, I think your son has got a worthy challenger for the Most Kiasu Kinna Award. nat_mom, it's one rare kid you have there!
my boy may be kiasu, but he is also not particularly hardworking ie doing extra out of his scope of work. -

Hi hphammie,
If you are looking for nearby schools, think Townsville or Teck Ghee should be a better choice.
Btw, how old is your child? -
thanks for the recommendation…
but if the standard is similar, i would prefer less travelling…
unless the reputation for the nearby school is really bad…
for the other 2 schools, still need to take bus…
my daughter is 4 yrs old now…
so we’ll prob move in when she is in P1 or P2 -
Park central; $500 psf; on high ground next to JS; solid.
