2009 GEP Screening And Selection
-
Puffer:
Yes, I can confirm, at least for my DS' school, that the results are out. It was given out by the VP. And no, there is no percentile stated for those who didn't make it.
u mean the letter did not state the percentile ? My friend told me it does. -
Dear All,
It is just a piece of computer-printout paper. Contents are
\"Thank you for participating in the selection exercise for the GEP. We regret to inform you that you have not been selected for the GEP. However, we do believe you will benefit from other enrichment and talent development programmes, and hope that you will continue to show interest in them to further develop your interests and talent areas. We wish you all the best in your studies.\"
Percentile or not, I'm still proud of my kid as we believe each is smart in his own ways. For now, it will be to prepare him well for his psle. -
all.in.one:
i think very unlikely as it is to screen for 'gifted' child. so if there is 10 yrs series then it defeat the purpose and is as gd as not having the tests... :lol:wahhhaaahaaaa! Oh my god! this envelope tickled me. :rotflmao: can't stop laughing!!!
Seriously, to all waiting for the BIG envelope, best wishes. :xedfingers:
This topic has been going on for days I wonder when will it be the end and we can get on with SA2 results! I am myself very curious what is
in the P3 GEP test papers??
Will there be a day when there is a 10years series for GEP P3, P4, P5, P6?
Anyone have sample questions of P3 GEP selection questions? Just curious
-
There are parents who send their kids to some kind of tuition centres which claim they can prepare the kids for GEP entry tests. I wonder how is it conducted? By doing what kind of questions? Since there is strictly no leakage of GEP selection papers.

kiasimom:
hi kiasimom, yes, the letter was only a computer-generated printout but i remembered very clearly there was percentile given during my gal's yr.Puffer:

during her yr, the selected participants was said to be ard 3000 out of ard 50000 total participants, so it worked out to be ard top 6%.
knowing yr child being the top few percent of the whole cohort is already :celebrate: so parents need not to be too disppointed if not selected.
me still the same saying, take it if it comes, forget it if it doesn't. -
KSP, the picture of that BIG YELLOW ENVELOPE is hilarious. Can't get over it.
I think i may have a glimpse of it while sitting on my sofa. My neighour's son just came back from his school and in his hands was that PRIZED YELLOW ENVELOPE.
No wonder, he was holding it in his hands (and not putting it in his bag), despite having to walk in the rain , back from his school, which was a stone's throw away from home. -
