As you can read from the link, this batch did badly for their HCL.
Oh....thanks for the link, i din know that.....
Thot since HCL in RV is also one of the promo criteria, as read fr this thread,
And RV standard for HCL is high, (go w/o saying) presumptuously the pupils do well.
After the new changes, HCL result is better. But this year, the result drop back again. You may have read earlier in this thread about some fuss that the P was asking some students to write appealing letter to stay on in Rv for failing their HCL.

Seriously, apart from learning HCL because it is your root, there are practicl reasons why the students should do well in it.

Talking abt HCL, may i ask the yr3 parents here,

Do yr child require to take the HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi), the Chinese Proficiency test in RV in this coming April ??
I only learnt abt the requirement of this chinese test recently fr my gal, ( only in late feb)
And they do have the oral test component.
I still thot she needs not to take any more oral exams after Psle........ šŸ˜‰ šŸ˜‚

What's the test about and is it difficult? I'm wondering what is the purpose of taking the test? Is it just to gauge the standard of the student?

            Hi Augmum

DD took it last year. I am not sure if they are still taking this year. This HSK replaced one of the paper they are supposed to take (can't remember is CA or SA). The result formed part of their whole year HCL result.
I heard those who did badly for HSK in year 4 need to retain.

oh...yr dd had taken the HSK test last yr.
i also dunno whether the HSK results will be taken into account or not,
already get her to ask her T abt it.

may i ask, how is the oral test, what are they tested on ?? topic conversations or what ??
so yr 4 another HSK test ?

Jtoh, perhaps this link will give you more details of HSK.
in short, it is a chinese TOFEL test.
