My DD’s school gave away a cert and trophy to top 1 % of the kids with good academic result. They gave out cert for modal pupils too.

            Cheers!

:celebrate: Drink to it. Don't think you will not get into HPPS, they seems to be always \"under-subscribe\". :welcome: And I don't remember they have any clause for you to opt-out. HPPS was our only choice as well, and we were thinking the same thing last year, die die must go there.

:whut: can't opt out?? but if they post him to far far away how? cannot expect the kid to leave home at 5.30am right? Keep my fingers cross.

                blur-daddy:
The talk last night and meeting the teachers were great for us. My kid now open somewhat to the idea of the program and I'm glad we brought him there for the session.

We spent our time mainly in HPPS as that's our option, given we don't wanna enroll our kid to SAP with NYPS and NHPS the other 2 nearest to our place. I know i know... Mrs Heng already mentioned chinese being chinese, and no lower or higher... just chinese. πŸ˜› But we would like our son to have time to appreciate the change and avoid too many changes in his life if possilbe... moreover, meeting the teachers there further convinced us HPPS is our only choice.

HPPS got a tour tmr morning at 8am... we look forward to it and now all depends on my son whether he like the school... if yes, we will sign up... our only option on the form. πŸ˜„
I'll also be there for the tour. Looks like there are already 3 parent choosing HPPS, yourself, Leeven & myself.

No, not neccessary top but most of them are among the top la, or you call the top 2 classes at P3.

Congratulations to those parents whose child got in.

Is GEP the yardstick to measure intelligence? :?
I believed there are some happy but surprised parents wondering is it just plain luck?
The percentage is 1% but not every kid selected belongs to the top 1% in the entire P3 cohort.
Some are not even in the top 5 - 10% of his/her school cohort.
Where do GEP kids proceed after PSLE? πŸ™

Can opt out. My girlfriend was given a GEP school that is not of her choice and she opted out. Now her DD is in mainstream.
