      blur-daddy:

The talk last night and meeting the teachers were great for us. My kid now open somewhat to the idea of the program and I'm glad we brought him there for the session.

We spent our time mainly in HPPS as that's our option, given we don't wanna enroll our kid to SAP with NYPS and NHPS the other 2 nearest to our place. I know i know... Mrs Heng already mentioned chinese being chinese, and no lower or higher... just chinese. πŸ˜› But we would like our son to have time to appreciate the change and avoid too many changes in his life if possilbe... moreover, meeting the teachers there further convinced us HPPS is our only choice.

HPPS got a tour tmr morning at 8am... we look forward to it and now all depends on my son whether he like the school... if yes, we will sign up... our only option on the form. πŸ˜„

I'll also be there for the tour. Looks like there are already 3 parent choosing HPPS, yourself, Leeven & myself.

My First choice given is Rosyth as my DH can send my child to school and I have student care near by until evening and then DH can pick him up too but distance counts (Rosyth far away ) so I have also put HP. :xedfingers:

:whut: can't opt out?? but if they post him to far far away how? cannot expect the kid to leave home at 5.30am right? Keep my fingers cross.

Can opt out. My girlfriend was given a GEP school that is not of her choice and she opted out. Now her DD is in mainstream.

If posted to faraway school (not our choice), can still appeal... heard some of them success in doing so...

Thats why MOE asks Parents to decide on 3 to 4 choices because parent would have calculated everything before choosing.

Anyone here (or knows friends) who stays in the North (Woodlands/Sembawang/Yishun) with kids in GEP ? What school are your (their) children in ?

I am still a little put off by the distance.

My son is in Rosyth, no need to worry about distance... Quite a lot of them in Rosyth from North.

Gep Mom . I have send PM to you .

If I remember correctly, my child’s old school gave $200 for the student who is top in level; $150 for 2nd in level; $100 for 3rd in level and Popular vouchers ($15 for the students top in class; $10 for 2nd in class$5 for 3rd in class).

Really Really Rich school . My Son's school give 15 dollar voucher for first rank and goes to $10 voucher for 2nd rank and $5 voucher for third rank. All Top 10s get $15 voucher (popular vouchers). They also have certs for the documentaries and good projects but no trophy. Any way who wants trophy's . we cannot carry this to show to DSA department. Certs are really really useful.

Not to worry, the teachers will give past 1 or 2 years papers to practice prior to examination or test.

yap u are right...so no need so worried and they would not have so much free time to do so many other assignment as what they have from p1 to p3...most importantly is to let them adapt to the ge programme first and if your kid is transferring to a new school, he has to adapt to the new friends and environment... πŸ˜„

Don't think you going to get any past year GEP paper in the market, unless someone found out there is a demand for it. Anyway, I don't think you need any further papers, your kids will be quite occupy by their GEP curriculum, and hopefully the rest of the time, you allow them to have some relaxing time.
