During the tour about of HPPS on Fri, I thought I heard the teacher mentioned that there isn't mid year exams for P4 and P5 for all those GEP.

Now I'm wondering whether I've heard wrongly coz DH said he didn't hear her said so.

        Actually, how many tests/exams are there for them? - CA1, CA2, SA2 ? :?:

I was there too... Yes, i confirmed with Julie that there won't be mid-year exam... and only 1 exam at the end of the yr for P4 and P5...

My kid likes the school and after this visit, it helped him in decision making... he basically based on the school playground, hall, library to make his decision πŸ˜„

We will submit one choice HPPS and think we should get it. How's yours? which school u put?

they don't call it ca1,ca2..they call them common test 1, common test 2, etc... and sa2 is the year end exam. These tests are the same for all the 9 gep school and the time table is the same too. For hcl there is unit test almost every months..anyway subject teachers will issue a time table of the tests and exam to the student during term 1 if i did not remember wrongly..... πŸ˜„

Like your kid, mine likes the playground.

However, also like the \"2-storey library\" at NYPS. πŸ˜› πŸ˜‰

Despite the above reasons, kid is still on the \"like program but can't bear to leave friends and school\" stand. :stupid: Each time we discuss this issue, kid is all tears. Can foresee that we will not reach conclusion till Monday, 16 Nov. I'm all prepared to let kid skip school so as to \"think through\" till before 5pm deadline. :stupid:

Very tough weekend. 😒 I wonder how many parents are in the same situation. :?

hi leeven, so do your son excited about going into gep?

Not really but his friends have told him that going GEP is easier to get in to a good school via DSA so he wants too also . Now a days kids get to know things more than us :x . But he understands that he has to stretch himself and lots of pressure will be on him..

i am more lucky in the sense that I always leave the persuasion part to my husband...and he 99% able to convince my ds ...btw my ds is scared of him haaaaaaa.. πŸ˜‰ but of course my husband will not do the persuasion if he himself doesn't agreed with the idea or planning... πŸ˜›

                        Hang in there, :ugogirl:

We had similar situation last year with my DS.

This is what we told our DS:

                        1. He will have to make new friends anyway as alot of his classmate will be leaving.
                        2. He will also be getting new teachers.
                        3. Give it a try and if it does not work out, he can always go back to the mainstream.
                        4. Get him a PSP, which he was asking but I was very adamant not to give.
                        5. This is part of life, where you will eventually part with your friend and school that he love.

This line of persuasion starts from the day we got the yellow envelope till the dateline, and still he was not convinced

Eventually it was DW who whisper something to DS ear that finally got him to agree. :celebrate:

Looking back and talking to him now, I think we have made the right decision and he agree without regret.

Hopefully it turn out well for you and good luck! :xedfingers:
