Hi my girl is 5 yrs old and she tends to cough easily when the weather changes.


You may check whether are there any curtain, bedsheets, dust that are near her sleeping area. try changing it often, i.e weekly if possible. clear away all the books in his/her sleeping area.

Give your kid to drink warm often (use tumbler to keep the water warm if he/she stays in an air-conditioned environments at school). Make sure the kid dun catch a cold at her chest area and neck.

My doctor said the renovation/ painting work also is one of the factor that trigger her cough. so try to stay away whenever you can... also give (original favour) cod liver oil at least once a week.

My son and i I have been sneezing a great deal late. Took Redoxon this morn but don’t find it that effective. Planned to give son 1/2 tablet to build up immunity. Quite concerned it will cause phlegm if taken everyday…heard vit c is soluble and needs to be taken daily.


I change bed sheet once a week as well as towels. As for air con, hard to sleep without it as it is so hot.

Is he still in 中华医院. Need to find a good TCM to help my boy, he’s having persistent coughing and hardly can fully recover from it no matter what type of medication I’ve given him (ventolin… bambec, nebuliaze …etc)

My girl have persistent cough before and she was cured by his prescribtion.
He is working in the morning and night time during weekday. Afternoon is another doctor. Wednesday is closed. Avoid weekend as it is too crowed.

Otherwise, you may like to consult Dr. Lynette from DaySpring Clinic at white sand. she is on duty on Mon,Fri morning and full day on Wed.

Does all above medication work for adults too ? I had terrible cough for 4 weeks , it finally got well after my 4th bottle of cough syrup , then I am not back to coughing again after recovering for only 1 month ! I am so afraid I will pass to my kids and the whole family will get the virus again , it seems like a vicious cycle , keeps coming back! Is there something wrong with air or what … argghhh !

weather is really warm these days! maybe it's causing all the flu and cough bug to spread around! i guess chinese herbs do work for adults too. perhaps the portion may be different. you can try asking the medical hall

Thanks kooky83, I tried for 2 days and I give up. I coughed more somehow and at least the western one keeps me quiet for a few hours . Maybe they didn’t prescribe the right herbs for me?
