I am transferred during/after P3. In general should not be a big problem to transfer to a in demand school to one that is not in demand bah?

As for adapting for the kid, I remembered it could be quite tough at first being the new kid in class, but after P4 the kids are put in different classes anyway so everyone got to make new friends so it is not too bad.
Some more the more in demand primary is usually harder so when I get to the other primary school (which is not so in demand) kind of find the work easier.

:?: you transfer your kid out from a more popular one to a not so popular one? Edit : read closely, and saw that you meant YOU are transferred.

i think comfy1 is asking about transferring from not so popular primary school to a popular primary school ba.

thanks all. Actually I’m thinking of whether to transfer my son to a

"not so popular" school to a "popular" school.
I’m in a dilemma as I’m worry that he will not get used to the environment.

hmmm I think it is best to talk to your kid first. At that age, they might already have made friends in school and school work might be harder in the more popular school.

Any reason for wanting to transfer him out at that age?

i guess you know your kids better...their socialising ability, their ability to adapt, their academic potential.
maybe you can sound them out?

                  Hi Comfy1 ,

                  My experience ......
When i asked my Ds1 . would u like to transfer to Nan hua Pri ? he said , Can i hv to try for 1yr First See How ?? i say Ok Heee.......  Now he said i like Nan Hua Pri , Bcoz i want to join Bowling or Golf , School provides lots of opportunities and Fun activity for the children .

Actually, if childrens have easy made friends in school that he will get used to the environment soon . Don't worry !! :lol
Considering his is a transfer student , his is coping very well. i believer given a good environment to study, they will be motivated .

I transferred my gal in P3 from a neighbourhood sch to a SAP sch.

She felt very bore in her previous sch and I could see that her interest in learning was dropping. I asked her if she would like to transfer to a sch with a more challenging environment, she agreed. We (my hb, my gal & me) sat down and went thru the sch’s profile one by one, after discussion, we finally decided on her current sch.

So far, she is very happy with this sch. I can see that she is more ‘alive’ now compared to last year.
