Yup, it is a good idea to start sourcing for sec 1 during the holiday. For other subjects i am not sure, but for Chinese language, I saw new titles released late last year and early this year from sec 1 onwards which cater to those doing the newest syllabus. Hope by year end, we have more selection as sec chinese assessment books are limited.

I am still learning to buy appropriate assessment book for primary level (painful process). Secondary school kids are so busy, do they still have time to do any assessment ? Will need to seek advice from parents who have kids in sec 1...when my son is done with PSLE.

You are rigt sec sch kids are so busy that school homework project, discussion and cca are their priority list. Assessment book usually become white elephant. You can buy one and try if he will do first.

After hesitating for 1 year, I decided to get my daughter a CL tutor...gave up coaching her. Syllabus is also beyond me :nailbite: The tutor told me the format of the assessment book (written by NTU Cengage) is tough...so I think I will give the B book a miss.

          :snuggles: :hugs: Janet,
guess as parents when we are at the lost or can't catch up with the latest syllabus, it best to outsource to others πŸ˜‚

You referring to the above book? (your DD is using 2A rite?) I have bought the 1A for DD2 too but again another \"sleeping beauty\" in the drawer  She did 2 chapters on the HYPY and stopped there and the next that she did was the one with HYPY + writing the Chinese Character. I have to agree this book is very challenging and is more suitable for higher ability kid. My DD2 is a typical \"eat french fries\" type and me really don't have the time and patience to sit with her to go through this book; Lazy Mummy :siam:

I love the following book and super :please:  to find out that ALL the school tingxie words for my P1 DD2 in this term can be found in this book :rahrah: :boogie:

                  Champion,
My hubby will not buy assessment book even if he steps into popular.
I've been getting that pink title since son was in P1...now i am buying it for my younger one. Your hubby is really dedicated...even on MC, he stepped into popular.
