      Hi

will the GPA score of 3.2 (Sec 4) effect the boy classes in JC1? Going to not so good class in JC1? My son told me no. Classes are not base on GPA score regardless your GPA score is low/high. It is depend what combination subjects the boys are taking.

In order to take H2 subjects min score is 3.2.

      Anyone can confirm this?

      :thankyou:

So in RI all students need to sign up a core and a merit CCA is it? Is merit CCA applicable to everyone? Till now still very blur…

And so in RI, if a student is not taking 3rd lang, he can later still sign up in upper sec as his optional course is it?

core CCA is compulsory. minimum must have one
merit CCA is optional, can do without
some are having merit CCA by default for eg math olympiad team members are auto incl as math club members, and math club is merit cca

No. Once you declined the 3rd lang option in sec 1, you can't opt for it again later

Why differentiate between core and merit? :?

math club, science club, chinese cultural club etc as examples are like extension from acad studies....merit cca

while all the sports group, uniform group, musical groups, and lastly debating club....are core CCA....look closely....they are not much related to acad studies

                        just my personal observation
