Stupid as I may sound, I'm still in a dilemma if I should give up the 2A2 school and ballot in 2C. As a working mum, I do not have the luxury to send my DS to school and both my DH and I travel quite frequently for business trips. Main caregivers are my parents. I would prefer he attends the school just opposite my house but the chance is maybe 40% or at most 50%. if balloted out, it's almost like end of the world!
OMG! I have no one to blame except myself for such silly move. On the other hand, if my son spend so much time in traveling to a far away school, gets tired and didn't fare well in school, i will blame myself too. If only there are more good schools around, it will take away this kind of unnecessary headache from the already very stressful parents.

Hi quesara,I went for balloting phase 2 b within 1 km for Kong Hwa but did not get.
Considering Tanjong Katong Pri or Haig girls for phase 2c. Hope these 2 schools do not have surprise in phase 2 C this year
I share the same fate as you. Now I'm in a dilemma. Don't know to hang on to Kong Hwa or apply Haig Girls for P2C. -

To be near is very important to me as my DS is very slow in eating. Half a year had passed and I am glad that his school is just 10 mins away by foot. He can do many extra things with that half an hr - an hour of travelling time (if I had chosen to put him elsewhere not in my estate).
You need to consider your plan B in 2C(S) if you decide to try the school opp your place and get balloted out. Where the next nearest school is and how far away it is. -

Dear Parents,
Phase 2C registration at the schools will be held from 30 July 2012 to 1 August 2012. Results will be announced on 7 August 2012.
The Primary One Internet Registration System (P1-IS) has been extended to 42 primary schools this year. The P1-IS serves as an alternate channel to facilitate the registration of children during Phase 2C and Phase 2C Supplementary in these 42 schools. If you are registering your child in any of these 42 schools in Phase 2C, you may do so from 9am on 27 July 2012 to 4.30pm on 31 July 2012. Please visit the P1-IS webpage for more details.
All our primary schools are well-resourced with good teachers, suitable facilities and sufficient funding for school programmes. They are fully equipped to develop every child to his or her fullest potential, and there are sufficient school places in every region of Singapore to cater to the needs of all Singaporean children.
Should any Singaporean child be unsuccessful during Phase 2C, the parents can register the child in another school with vacancies at Phase 2C Supplementary. -

Anyone registering in Pei Hwa for P2C <1km???
-
Looking at past year statistics, I think you can try Kong Hwa again in 2C as there are seats in 2CS for haig girls (if i have read correctly).
-
I am within 1 km to Nan Hua & QiFa in 2C registration phase. Should I ballot in Nan Hua against the advise of good will & experienced parents, and risk being in turmoil to search for a place in 2CS? Or register directly at QiFa & start to focus on getting ready for school?
Really appreciate if you can share your advise/opinions. Where would you register?
