Hi Oh My Gosh,
No first come first serve. If demand > supply, depends on SC or PR, then proximity from school kicks in.Oh My Gosh:
Hi, just to confirm.
Will be there be a different to register in the first day or last day?
No first come first serve right?
Thanks for the re-confirmation as that is my understanding too. I called the school to ask no. of applicants so far. I was advised by the admin staff that they \"will close\" applications if the no. of applicants hit the no. of available places. I nearly fell of my chair upon hearing that. When I probed again, the staff told me that they will not encourage parents to register if places already exceeded vacancies available.....applications still open till 1 Aug 2012....pheewwww
Don't worry. The schools cannot \"close\" the applications. At most, they will advise the parents whom stay > 1 km to register at other schools. But even if these parents insists, the schools will still have to take in their registrations. Just that these parents (living > 1 km) will lose their opportunities for no reason if they do not listen to the school. No point since this will not put them higher in the waiting list! -

Just curious... which school is that :)? -

If the situation is that vacancies are already taken up by those living within 1km and the school wish to discourage applicants who are living >1km, I can appreciate the school's effort in asking them to register at another school since they will have no chance for ballot. But if the parent live within 1km, and knowing that the vacancies are taken up and still wish to register for a chance at balloting, I think the school should not actively discourage becos it's not a case of first come first serve. If they are eligible for ballot, should have a chance to ballot.
They meant only for those within 1km (SC) applicants can accept only.(Balloting is a must). -

Anyone has the latest result for CHIJ Katong?
As at 4:30pm, <60 applicants. No details on distance, PR orSC. -
Rosyth -> 63 applicants, all SC.

Hi,
Its YTPS which I called. Maybe what the school staff meant is for those applicants staying outside the 1km radius.
I am relieved to re-confirm that registration is open till 1 Aug 2012 and I intend to go and register tomorrow since I am staying within 1km from the school (nearest to my house)

Does anyone has the number of applicants for CHIJ OLGC in terms of <1km and btw 1km and 2km? Just called the school and got a busy reply.
Thanks! -
OLGC still keying the data, asked me to check MOE website tonite. Abit impatient answer.
