I think they started to cut down number of volunteers. But in trying to limit, again the school will have problems I deciding who gets selected and who doesn’t. Some pv who complete the hours may end up registering for another school. In all, this can be big headache.
As one who got her kid in via 2B, I’m grateful there was this route, else with my kiam chye mia, my kid would have failed in ballot. -
Learning Parents,
I also ballot fail in phase 2B. where u seating at that day? so sad & angry but cant too anything. past year stats shown 2B all will get in. I dont understand why the principal accept the number of pv from 40+ to 60 this year else all would have got in. i even sent my DD to Berries to brush up her chinese to get ready for the HCL there.
Anyway after that i call up the school immediate to ask about waitlist, they say wait til 2C is over then will open the waitlist & its not in order of who is #1 on the list. Its by the reason u give & will give it to the one who needs the space the most. PV wont have any priority. -
1. i am sitting in the middle role bah; 3rd of 4th; i am rather dissappointed intead of angry. where did u sit?
2. had feedback to principal when we submitted registration closed to cut off time, around 3.30pm.(in term no of pvs, and might even share to those if like us 1-2km, might consider twice if want to do pv…)
3. waitlist: yes, got to wait till 2c is over; talked to registration manager again today as saw 2 more seats for 2cs; from past years, nobody withdrew before P1. So, we dont have chance i think. (but no harm submit it)
4. where did you register ur child then? need to ballot?
Already registered girl at geylang methodist, dont need to ballot; past years need to ballot, may be SC over PR did help us a little bit. -

Learningparents:
shall see how; as really want them to learn more about our chinese culture/value. belief SAP school will do more in chinese
interestingly, the same reason for getting into these old, traditional schools is for the chinese culture/values and beliefs, hoping that it will do more good to our pampered kids.
nan chiau is 1-2km from my place and out of reach now.
hongwen, my boy can go in as 2A2 in next yr registration, but it is 10.6km from my place..
headache.
Hahaha, I'm opposite from u, I'm <1km from Hong Wen and am old girls of Nan Chiau. -

Learningparents, Congrats!!! No need to ballot for P2C. All the best to your DD in her new school.

Convey the passion for the school when stating the reasons for applying the waitlist.
All the best.
P1 is an exciting experience for the kids, get to have new stuff and new experiences. Hope you and your child will enjoy the shopping and the P1 journey.
