MMM,Hi,
My kids spent 1 year in Ossia (affiliated to Christopher) and spent around 1 year there. But subsequently due to change of teachers and bad ones, I moved them to Kawai at the beginning of the year. They had tremendously improvement compared to the amount of time they had spent in Ossia. Fee is around $110 for weekends as compared to $60+ for Ossia. But I think the teacher quality makes the diff.
Which Ossia brunch did you go to?
and how young did you start your kids at Ossia?
Is it that bad? -
i heard some stories from my students too. They were from ossia last time.

oic..so i guess they are not good stories...
I am looking at introducing some music 'appreciation' for my 2 yr old and don't know where to start and when to start proper music lessons. Not sure if can sustain his interest too.
any suggestions? -

What do you think of this music school? http://www.mycsingapore.com.sg/
I couldn't decide if i should let my 4 yo gal attend the abv music class or engage a private teacher to teach her piano. She has not attended any music class yet.
If I engage a private piano teacher, how many mths of lesson must she go thru before she can go for the grade 1 exam?? -
thanks pianojazzy!!

You are welcome mzckoh

Deon629, normally it takes about 1.5-2 yrs to reach gr 1 standard for age of 4. However it also depends on individual learning curve and how often and commitment of the practise sessions. I have students who reach gr 1 standard in 6 months and gr 2 in 9 months etc. It depends on age and parental support as well.
