Daniel, if you do not mind traveling a bit, you may consider Montfort Junior at Hougang while waiting for PC, KCS and St Andrew. I am sure the wait list at these schools should be quite long.

MOE won't be so fast in implementing. For me, I am safe as my boy is already enrolled. šŸ•ŗ
So I don't really agree with your phase 1 suggestion. Only second your p2c and p2d suggestion. šŸ˜‰

I still feel that Phase1 & 2A should be combined and restrict to a certain percentage, ie, no guaranteed place.

Phase 1 for current siblings should keep for logistics reasons.

Phase 2 for alumni's children is a priviledge and could be the main cause of the current problem that many can't get into a school near their house so should be capped not scrapped.

I'm very disappointed with MOE system. Like other parents we just want their children to go to the nearby school. if there's a good reputation school nearby, that's a bonus. My son had fail to register a place in pharse 2c. I will not proceed to registered 2c supplementary as all good decent school nearby had no more vacancy. My son had been put on waiting list in \"Pei Chun\", \"Kheng Cheng\" and St Andrews\" Junior. I'm sure priority is still give to PR ways before Citizen.

if MOE really want to help, ask one of the school to take in my son otherwise why not enroll him in P2 n let him try. if he cant perform then downgrade him to P1 or repeat P2.

Waiting list can take up to 3 years FYI.

              This one is TRUE.

That why I heard from the teachers when I filled the waiting list.

She disclosed the waiting list is about 200 name list .. :yikes:

I was abt to \"faint\" :faint:

It's already stated clearly that SC has priority over PR.

I do believe you should justify your statement too.
Thank you all parents for your valuable support and advise. Meanwhile i will enroll my son in Guangyang Primary School in Bishan.

To be precise all SC should be allocated a place in all phase before PR. That should be the case. PR should not be allowed up till pharse 2C.

From my understanding, Kheng Cheng had quite a handful of PR in 2C. Shouldnt PR been rejected during 2C even if there's a vacancy. It should been reserved for those SC who fail to register a place in any school!!!

PR should only be allowed to register in the LAST phase (FUTURE).

Oh I think I understand what you mean liao. The new system in placed is SC has priority over PRs in the same phase they are registering. e.g. In phase 2c, every SC should have priority over PRs. If there is any vacancies, then PRs have a chance.

But what you are suggesting is to put SC in absolute priority. The PRs have no chance at all until phase 2c sup or even later (since 2c sup may also have SCs fighting for the vacancies).

erm... I think this is a bit too much la. having priority over PRs in the same phase is good enough for me. This is enough to prove to me that SCs matters (more). Dont flame me.... :siam:

It's more reasonable to restrict applicants within 1km to register on Day 1 and Day 2 only. Day 3 is out for them.

If this school has a higher probability to go in within 1km, it makes sense to change last Min. But again, those exceed 1km will be angry over it. Chicken n egg issue.

If I read your comments correctly, then the parents who are <1km can play the \"last minute game\" on Day 2 amongst themselves. This will give those who are >1km the time to assess the situation on Day 3.

If so, will I get 4 ballot tickets or 2 tickets?

MOE removed ballot slips (obsolete). Now, all play TOTO. How to play ?

What about people who own the house, live there but decide to sell or rent out the house once the kid gets in or any time during the 6 years there? :?
