Travel: Maldives

4 hours flight. You arrive in Male in the night or in the wee hours of the morning (can’t remember exactly). The individual resorts will arrange for their porters to meet you at the airport, guide you across the road from the airport so you can take your motorboat launch to the resort. You’ll arrive there in pitch darkness to sleep till the next day. Some people choose to stay in Male overnight and go over to the resort the next day to save one night of accommodation.
The flight back is also in the night. so remember to ask your resort to provide you with a hospitality room on the last day so you can still have your shower etc after you checkout.
Very shiok memories! The only negative is, unlike Phuket or other Asian beach resorts where you can move around the area or go from island to island for shopping or cheap eats, the likelihood is you’re stuck in paradise because there are no attractions on other islands except other resorts. Maybe you can try Male for that - we didn’t. -
Hb & I went to Maldives for honeymoon.
There’s nothing much to do there for kiddos. We saw a few couples with toddlers & all they did was play at the pool, play at the beach and go on boat tours.
It’s really meant more for couples rather than families. It’s good if you intend to come back with an extra kid like we did
There’s really nothing much to do there except sleep, laze ard, eat, massage, make babies and swim

I agree with some of the folks that Maldives is more practical for a honeymoon resort. May I suggest Phuket. There a few family resort that you can choose , the top notch is Movenpick at Karon (5 star :the kids club are free throughout your stay for kids of age 4 & above), Ramada at Karon ( I would say it’s worth only 3 star as the breakfast and room are like downtown east chalet style but free playstation in the kids room + a fun slide at the pool), or if you prefer patong so that you can still do shopping and eat out of the resort, then stay at holiday inn, . Phuket is a must destination for my family for the past 4 years. Forget about Bintan, Bali, etc. Thai service is the best
