He is my first..
Is he your first.. preparation for primary school start as earlier as now if you are completing for good school. we uprooted ourselves and ended up losing out on the first choice coz outside the 1km zone. Must plan carefully. Now ended up in a all-girls sch coz taking the boys out of the equations, chances improved a little.Josephcmtan:
Hi mummies/daddies!
I have a DS born in Jun 2008.
Anything to share on their experiences on arranging holidays with their kiddos/ or with preparing them for primary sch?
We moved out from sengkang last dec. SK and PG is a young populated area and the newer schools are popular with e PRs as well coz premises new. Abit shallow but tt wld b their best bet considering tt sc outside 2km will be in from branded sch. Branded Sch like nc at sengkang is always oversubscribed. I heard good report on Horizon. But have u consider PV for e 2b phase. Looking at the historical stat, u can do a better assessment. We placed the wrong bet, if we opted PV for our second choice, wldn't have to ballot.
The problem is my own place will be ready around the time he's in P1.
It will be disruptive with all the moving and also if I still have to stay in Serangoon before my place is ready, I'll have to travel quite abit to send him to sch in Punggol.
Don't think I'll be sending him to those highly-sought after schs.
Thinking of either Punggol View or Hoizon Primary.
But Horizon will be 1-2km and most likely will have balloting for 2C or those staying 1-2km.
Punggol View will be within 1km though.
-

Sengkang blk 303 (can't recalled the alphabet behind e blk no.) has MY first Skool. Healthy teacher student ratio at the time we enquired. One yr back. Wife's colleague also sent his son there. Good feedback.

Hi,
My daughter is born in 2008. Anybody has good child care or kindergarten leads to share in the sengkang/punggol area? Thanks.
My friend placed her DD in My First Skool in Punggol.
Not sure which branch exactly.
My DS also in My First Skool in Serangoon and I find it not bad. -
I hope that my place will be ready for move-in before DS goes to P1.
Its soooooo nerve-wrecking! -
Whinypooh:
Seriously, if time permits, u shld consider PV. This yr balloting is so unpredictable due to the change in policy. Even that PR exclude, sc Beyond 2km also \"trying\" their luck. For my ds's school all 25PR are out. SC beyond 2km still has to ballot but pp still trying their luck.I hope that my place will be ready for move-in before DS goes to P1.

I agree.

Even the neighbourhood schools are facing over-subscription nowadays.
I have emailed Horizon but they told me to look through their website.
They have a parent volunteer tab in it but its empty now. Maybe PV has closed for registration.
And not sure whether I will be able to qualify for 2B by doing the PV work listed inside the PV tab or I actually have to call the school to register my interest?
And I have 1 yr to clock in 40hours right? -

I believe for Punggol View, there shld be no need for PV as it is a new school and will have its first batch students in 2013.
But as for Horizon, definitely have to do PV if I want to enrol DS in but this school is a distance away.
I think PV for Horizon is at most 40hrs. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Hi! I am a newbie here staying in boon lay with daughter born nov. 2008
any feedbacks re: pcf blk 262, 207, 631, 642 and 490 little wings?
trying my luck to get her to n2 this coming sept. term and k1 next year.
Is it true, I should be already looking for P1 school for her by this time? -

if you are looking at PV, then yes. the closing of the registration for pv is usually 2 yrs before the enrolment.Hi! I am a newbie here staying in boon lay with daughter born nov. 2008
