My son is lacking beginning sounds n ending sounds in some of his words. The speech therapist is working on this area. Not sure is that part of phonics too. Thats y i am not sure will ICR benefits him since they are using phonics too.
Family members can help too. When speaking to your boy, deliberately sound the s, t,d....etc ending words. Exaggerate the mouth movement when you speak to him. Play silly games like who can make the sounds he have problem pronouncing louder.
Coupled with speech therapist and home guidance, I'm sure your boy will overcome these.

My K2 boy only started speaking in full sentences at mid of nursery. He started speaking single words at 20 months. Considered slow in the milestone. I was referred to KKH for review at the 18 mths checkup. :gloomy: Was so scared that I did my own speech therapy on him. Now, no one believes that he only started speaking so late.

My boy only started speaking in full sentences at 4 yrs old, starting speaking at 3.5 yrs old although i started speech therapy at 2.5 yrs old. 🤷

He will forget the ending sounds although repeated reminders. :skeptical:

            Hi all

May I know whether anyone has had their DS or DD enrolled in ICR Tampines and taught by either Teacher Adele (British) or Teacher Kristen (American)? Any feedback on which teacher is better in terms of rapport with children, higher English proficiency, more accurate pronunciation and most importantly, able to visibly improve the reading proficiency of your DS or DD?

            Thanks in advance.

              Hi! Lovinglife,

After the ICR level, they will attend a creative writing class, to prepare them for P1.
Currently my DS is attending ICR level1, to complete the whole ICR take about a year.

                Hi Ymy,

Do you mean ICR level 1 consist of 6 books (24 weeks) + another 6 months of creative writing class = 1 year course?

                  Hi! Lovinglife,

ICR (6 levels) take one year to complete. Thereafter, they can progress to the creative writing class.

                      Hi Ymy,

I do not know which level my DS is in. He is currently finishing book 2 and will start book 3 in Nov. Will you progress your DS to creative writing class after completing the course?

                        Hi monster mummy,

My DS will be completing the programme when he turns 5 1/2 yo. So other than creative writing course, he has another option to join PEP if continue to stick with ICR?
