Hi, we are looking at HCL and other Chinese enrichment centres for our DC in 2021 when he starts Sec 1. He will be taking Higher Chinese. We have not decided yet but in case we decide to go for the enrichment centre HCL, does anyone have an existing child in HCL as there is a $50 discount, I assume for both parties, for a successful referral? May I know whether anyone has had their DS or DD enrolled in ICR Tampines and taught by either Teacher Adele (British) or Teacher Kristen (American)? Any feedback on which teacher is better in terms of rapport with children, higher English proficiency, more accurate pronunciation and most importantly, able to visibly improve the reading proficiency of your DS or DD?

I would like to know whether it is a must for upright pianos like the Yamaha U1 to be placed against a wall (with some allowance between the wall and piano) or can it be placed near the centre of the living room with no wall but with a sofa set against the soundboard (with some allowance)? No it's not a must that upright pianos be placed against a wall. I've seen one piano placed right smack down the center between the living and dining area. In fact by doing this, I believe the sound of the piano will resonate better, especially to those sitting on the sofa.

I guess the reason such placement is not popular is that the visually aesthetic part of an upright is always at the front. As for the back, err .....
