For this yr, yr3 Promo criteria has risen to GPA 2.4…

On top of that, computation is based on L1R5, unlike the previous yrs…

Hi, I’m a parent of a student in DH, currently in year 2.

Was wondering about how the cohort did this year?
I heard that many people failed Geog and Hist.

My gal is currently in yr 3.....
Geog and Hist are rather challenging subjects in sec sch,
as one is required to write essay answers as well as DRQ ( data response questions for geog) and SBQ ( source based questions for hist).

Fyi, this yr, yr 3, half of the cohort failed Geog, but none failed Hist.....
So i wonder will there be more pupils choosing Hist next yr for their yr 3 subj combination,
while the usual popular subj used to be Geog........

Do you see the point now? If most of these students are taking triple sciences, then they are stucked with one humanity subject which they are weak at.

This is only school internal exams, they can set difficult Geog or Hist exam papers,
Or raised the std of marking, so as to raise the std of their pupils.....
When comes to the crucial A level exams, over 70% of the cohort could get an A for Geog.

Moreover, no one is so garang to take both Geog and Hist as their double humanities.....(at least not for the current yr)
since there isnt such a class in yr 3.

Eventually, when comes to yr5, many of them would drop both Geog and Hist and opt for Econs.....

Choosing triple sciences or double humanities, has to depend on individuality.....
If pupils are not inclined towards humanities subj.....be it academically or interest,
it is a torture to be forced by the sch to mandatory take up 2 humanities subjs
and to forgo 1 of their stronger science subj which they are likely to do well......
