All the best! I am going this route too. Just served my maid notice and allowed her to transfer.Hello all..after more than 10 years n 8 maids...i have decided not to have a helper anymore...i am tired but i hv a piece of mind!...hv been maidless for nearly a month now
my kids r 13,12 n 8...my father is staying with me too..
i woke up at 4.30-5 am to cook lunch for my family...
household chores r share among us
lucky for me...my husband is the type that can do marketing n help in household matters...
to make my cooking a 'faster affair'...as i need to leave house by 6.45 am...
i bought
-iona roaster(like air fryer)
-pressure cooker
-thermal pot
others
-stick vacuum
i need to replace my blender etc too
i am thinking of getting a dryer?
i have 1 mth more to get my timings right before the school reopens...
reading the stories here somehow 'motivates' me and 'get some ideas' to shorten the time of doing housework\\cooking... -
Dryer is a good to have. ESP since these days, seems like the rainy season is here.
I remembered when my child was just two months old, it rained for one whole week (during the day time) and all my baby’s clothes had to be dried by hair dryer! Luckily,an infant’s wardrobe comprises of tiny pieces… -

I haven't bought yet, but am looking at getting the neato or roomba. U may google to read up more on each robot, then decide which is more suited for your budget and needs. Jia you together!Xiaodingdang@Work --> hihi no choice...the 1st week really my body ache like dun know what

I bought one when I moved house and it increased my bill to about 30% more...even though I used it just 1x a week:( -

If you have moved to a bigger house, chances are the jump in utility consumption is due other reasons. For me, when we moved to a bigger unit, our utility bill jumped from about $30 to $70. After some observation, we believe the jump should be due to more lighting, a water heater tank, a bigger tv, a bigger fridge and more fans. -
i used dryer weekly… especially now rainy season, twice a week. no, utility bill did not jump higher… maybe new invented dryer nowadays did cater for such savings… do go ahead and get dryer if u r working and these work depend on u n hubby… this will safe lots of ur time !

What brands of dryers are u guys using? Mine broke down because of the rain. Now not sure what reliable ones are available.

I have been using Electrolux dryer n washer for many years. Quite reliable. I think my dryer does not contribute as much to utilities bills compared to aircon
So "pei fu" those who can cope without a maid…being maidless is something I can dream of as a working mum with 2 young kids, really not feasible for me. Now I hardly do any chores at home and thus, able to spend my time on my kids… I would not be able to do so without a maid. -
