Hi, I'm looking for a Math enichment class for my gal. She will be in P2 next year. Does anyone know of any good math classes? Anybody has tried Andrew Er tuition centre? Pls share with me your comments! Thanks! -
Hi!
So far the feedback abt Andrew Er has been positive and parents r happy with e centre. I'm also considering sending my child to Andrew Er. Placement Test is required.
For P1 English, any parents send their children to Morris Allen, Lorna Whiston or Learning Lab? Any feedback! Thanks! -
one of my son’s classmate is attending learning lab-English in eastpoint (simei). the feedback given is rather positive. An entry test is needed too to gauge your child’s ability.

sorry parent, I think I mix-up , the one that I'm referring is learning point.
As for learning lab, maybe you could refer to this thread for more info.

Yes Learning Point @ Thomson Plaza is also a highly sought after enrichment centre. They too have to go thru Placement Test before child is accepted.
Child has to know A-Z sounds, write own name.
As for Maths, must at least know up to 20, problem sums, number bonds as well. Therefore it’s wise to practise with child. -
heard some feedback that they tend to give lots of homework to drill the kids; and the questions and generally quite challenging. Anyone knows of centres offering more diverse math classes…likes of math olympiad?

If possible, is best that you coach yr child maths since he/she is going to pri 2 next year, no need to spend on tuiton. Just buy maths guide book from popular book shop and take a look at the examples, you will be able to answer the question and also learn the technique to solve the problem sum.

Most of the tuition agencies are good but it also depends on yr child (if the child is self-motivated)

Thanks Pinkerella. Unfortunately i’m a working mum, so hoping to find a good enrichment class that will keep the kid interested. Hopefully they cover more interesting and challenging topics, besides just the routine school curriculum. So was hoping if someone could share any feedback on either andrew er or learning lab math program…heard these 2 schools are popular amongst parents.

Learning Lab requires child to go through Placement Test. Understand Learning Lab is known for picking 'cream' of e crop. Good Luck!  No harm putting yr child into waiting list. Waiting period can be up to 1.5 years!
