Normally the school will give it to a school prefect. The child must be good in academics, CCA & holds leadership position. My boy's school head prefect received the Eagles Award.

My boy received both Scholarship and EAGLES awards last year and this year.
Last yr for being President of his club and this year for being Vice-Head prefect πŸ˜„

I was just reading that it is only awarded to top 10% of cohort. dh and I were really :? wondering wondering.... dh was like.. did they make a mistake????

dd was a monitress last year but not this year. In addition, she had wanted to be a prefect but didn't get a chance as there were too many prefects in her class.... but she is the well-behaved and self-regulated type. Fairly good comments from FT in report book. Besides that she is actively involved in the band cca where she is a section leader. But... ds is also equally involved but just not holding a position yet.... I wonder if all position holders in the cca get the eagles???? But... with the 10%, don't think they can afford to give all. Maybe will ask her to ask her friends if they got it.

Anyway... good for her as we are trying for dsa next year. I suppose it is a \"testimonial\" of her academic and cca involvement.

Though we are :please: but we are also :?

The award , I mean the cash given is based in household income . So if household income is higher than cannot apply right ? Only get the certificate is it?

                  Hi coolbreeze,

                  Firstly, Congratulations!
May I know : For last year, did your boy get the award from school or from the MP? Is there a change this year, there seems to be a ceremony to give away the EAGLES award. I thought usually for EAGLES, just collect from school office with the letter.

Yes, he received the EAGLES award (2011) from his principal sometime in Jan this year but the letter received this wk mentioned that we will hear from our constituency office in due course.

Could it be because he has graduated from his pri sch? I'm not sure :scratchhead:

Hello, I received letters for 3 Edusave Awards : Merit Bursary - top 25%, Edusave Character Award and the EAGLES award. May I know whether I am eligible for just 1 / 2 awards or all of them?

I checked the MOE website and found out that if you get the Edusave scholarship, you will not be eligible for the Merit Bursary. If you get the Edusave scholarship / Merit Bursary, you will not be eligible for the Good Progress Award. I am not sure if this is how it works for the other awards, please share. 🀷

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

                        Thank you. πŸ˜“
