COP 2012 - For Secondary Schools in 2013

it has been confirmed that for 2013 Secondary 1 intake :-


COP @Methodist Girls' Sec (MGS) is 257 for IP , and 252 for O Level (Express)

COP @CHIJ St Nicholas (SNGS) is 255 for IP , and 253 for O Level (Express)

COP @Cedar Sec is 254 for IP , and 251 for O Level (Express)

263 in ACS(I) would be in the top 2nd class.

Depends on your kid's preference, and also if you think the IP or IB programme will suit him. ACSI is top in the IB arena here. So both are good schools, just depend on your likes and preference.

when enter 2013 Sec 1 -
how does RI place pupils into various Sec 1 classes ?

is it randomly mixed or go by COP results, ie. all the top scorers from all neighbourhood schools in SG are placed into one same Top class ?
example: > 280 entered Top class, those scored 270-279 enter 2nd top class.
can any RI parent comment ?

You hv to decide on the certification u prefer at the end of the 6 yrs first.

u may also analyse yr son's strength(s), both you & yr husband may talk to him to consult his interest(s) and future direction heading -
after 6 years' journey - do u think he'll fare better in the IB, or A level ?

if you think is IB - then stick to ACS.
but if you think is A level - you may appeal, and leave the appeal outcome result to God's will. If after appeal and RI door is shut, then take it that it is God's will that yr son pursue ACS IB route. Encourage him to do his best and excel in whatever situation he is in; he'll be able to perform.
