If your colleague gave birth after age 40 to the first kid, it is high Risk! But if it's not 1st kid but 2nd or 3rd, not so.
I have two colleagues gave birth after 40s. -

But remember my colleague's fren give birth to her 3rd child at 38yo , her daughter is ASD ..
Nevermind la meaning all rounded chances of ASD la. -
Actually I’ve been pondering these questions for quite a while:
1) the doctor at Jurong Medical Centre-Child Development Unit told me that if one child is ASD, then the sequent one(s) will have 18% chance of being ASD too, and even higher if the next one is a boy. I’ve a 5yo boy, gave birth early 30s. I’ve heard alot that having a siblings for ASD kid is helpful but both my hb and I are worried. We are not optimistic with the 82% though…
2) would there be any chance that a psychologist misdiagnose? -
@wamin, I’ve stayed in the west before. I’ve heard of st James church and Little Wings. For your info ya!

@Summer tan, i am not sure what to say. Doctor have some spinning board and they drive figures from there :(.
My son and daughter both are ASD, they have 1 year gap. I thought it would be good idea to have no big gap in both so they can be each other friends but i was not aware both are going to be ASD. -
Summer tan:
1) I also gave birth to my boy in my early 30s. My 2nd is NT and she helped my elder one a lot in terms of social skills. So luckily I didn't get a diagnosis until I had my 2nd one. She's a joy to have and I finally understood what it is like to have an NT kid and how they should respond. Also found out what behaviour is typical of a child and not just unique to ASD children.Actually I've been pondering these questions for quite a while:

2) Possible. ESP for high functioning ones. -

That will be great! Thanks!
You should ask your doctor to write those gummies (also available in syrup) for your kid. My sister in law had those for her daughter and he is getting fat now :). I have name of the syrup, if u want i can PM you.mashy:
That's great! Mine is very picky with food and hardly growing. Sigh. He now looks like the starving children from Africa. I'm bringing him for his bone age test next month, hopefully will be good. -
Lavina:
I gave birth at 26, relatively young right? also like that.......
Yes, 26 is young.
one of my cousin's friends - the wife (herself a doctor) gave birth at 27.
Her husband is a cardiologist. The child is ASD.wamin:

my child is skinny, because she v picky in food, don't eat vegetables, throw out all the peas. Think she need to eat these gummies ... to fatten her up. -

My son's doctor at KKH told me is only 5% that my #3 might be ASD cos my #1 is HF ASD. But she warn that there is higher of developing into other developmental issues.
Still we took that leap of faith. My #2 turns out to be very bright and sweet. I grew up with a lot of siblings. I dun want one day when I am no longer around, my #1 will be totally alone. At least he will have 2 other siblings and 3 of them have each other.
I am keeping my fingers cross that #3 is fine. So far he is meeting his milestones okay. :xedfingers:
