Travel: Japan - General

Hi we are considering to go Tokyo Disneyland sometime in May before the school holidays with our 2 active kids (6 and 3). Hope fellow KSP can give some advise.
Is it better to book with agent or book from various website ?
Is it easy to get around by ourselves ? We don’t intend to travel much, 1 or 2 days in disneyland / sea, do some shopping and relax.
Is 6 nights too much if we are not going to venture out ?
TIA -

If you are visiting the disneyland and disneysea, I would suggest you do a 2 day trip.(1 day for Disneyland and 1 day for Disneysea)
I felt 6 days is fine to travel in Tokyo, not too much at all .
As for whether to book through agent or various website ,it is all up to you.
Getting to the hotel from the airport is quite easy, they have airport limo just outside the airport to bring you direct to the hotel. -
Hi BBEwee, thanks !
We will look at 2 nights in disneyland & sea, 1 (2) night in Hakone and then 2 (3) nights in city. Will check with JTB also. -
Hihi
I will like to check how fellow KSP settle the luggage at disneyland as the hotel check in is 3pm and any comments on shinjuku Washington hotel?
How to go hello kitty land from shinjuku?
Will we get to see cherry blossom in 1st week of April?
:thankyou: in advance -
If you’ve been to Osaka, can share which hotel is nice (near and easy access to shopping arcades and subway station?) and not too expensive? Should I be worried about the radiation from Fukushima nuclear plant? I know it’s quite far away and it’s been quite some time, but I read somewhere that radiation will linger for decades…not sure how true it is?

1) Appreciate a heads-up if there is any promotion of airfares to Tokyo in late Oct, please.
2) Anybody stayed in a ryokan which has a fantastic view of Kawaguchi-ko and Mt Fuji, please share more info.
Thank you. -
Our family stayed in Sunnide Resort hotel with gorgeous view of lake kawaguchiko & mt Fuji from our room. The experience was memorable. Even the Japanese dinner was marvelous.

We'll be travelling to Tokyo mid-June. Planning to have one day each for Disneyland and Disneysea... I hope one day each is sufficient.
For those who been to HK Disneyland, can you comment on both?
After Disneyland/sea, we will move to city area but have yet to make any plan. Any recommendation?
How about food? Any suggestion? I have 2 very picky boys
I hope they will be ok with the food there.
Do they have tourist train pass?
Any other useful tips to share?
Thanks so much! -

HK Disneyland is small.
You can introduce sushi and sashimi to your boys. As they are fresh and delicious. I brought my older dd when she was 3yrs old, she loves it.
Yes there is Japan Rail pass. You need to purchase it in Singapore only in order to get the discount. If your kids are < 6, it's free. You can use this rail pass to travel from Narita to Tokyo city centre.
