MOE did not break down number of pupils registered, by distance range.
(ie. less than 1 km, between 1 to 2 km, beyond 2 km)
you may however contact the school, inquire detailed breakdown (if keen)

        mummyofthree:
        hi blitze

u can check on the open house somewhere from june to july, cos aug will start to P1 reg for phase 2 onwards (if i remember). my colleague's girls are in Changkat (Simei). Seems not a bad sch. but like you, i stay in punggol. but i chose Horizon due to below reasons (my girl in P2 now):

        1) i did not do any PV (parent volunteer) even i stay opp of Meetoh. I don want to stress myself for the ballating.
        2) Horizon has student care center (SCC) inside the school. this is more safer than to choose SCC from outside.
        3) i prefer new sch, new premises. teachers are more focus on the limited students they have. this yr Horizon has more than 1k students.
        4) Principal is from Eunos Pri Sch.

but it is really up to you to decide. there is another topic on Horizon Pri in this forum. maybe u like to search more before u decide.

New sch is not a bad idea. U may want to find out more if Punggol View is going to start SCC next yr since this yr is their 1st yr in operation. Horizon started off with no SCC too.

i guess your only concern is after sch dismissal, like me. I choose Horizon becos when i reg my girl for P1 in 2011, this sch is nearer (don't really like Edgefield & they are pretty far from my home). Greendale started last year but they only announced late Nov in 2011 when P1 reg is over. And my SIL stressed to me, Greendale is not that good. I think Meetoh also started SCC this yr cos i saw the SCC tee-shirt ytd.
Thank you mummyofthree for your reply! :snuggles:

Just to share, my current arrangement is, I sent my daughter to a kindergarten in Simei in the morning. Then my parents will fetch her along her cousin who is in the same class as her. In fact she has been growing up with her 3 other cousins. (Luckily my parents' pl is huge compare to mine). Then evening, I will fetch her back to Punggol.

so if she goes to Changkat, the routine will be same. Except it is much earlier. There are days where I struggled to sent her to school on time with the traffic and the morning routine.

for Punggol View, is just next door to my house. so definitely a convenience to send her in the morning. a definite plus. an option I am considering is to have a one way bus transport.

        Hmmmm.... still thinking... :?:

Let your little one enjoy his/her childhood, Fruitart. It only happens once in their entire lives.

I didn’t send my kids for tuition during K2, and they’re all doing fine in MTS (as in above-average results). itskryptic is right, let your children enjoy their childhood while they can.

                      Hi Sweetbaby

Yes all the primary schools have vacancies available in phase 2C. At the end of phase 2C, only Meetoh & Horizon had balloting. Edgefield phase 2C was full. Greendale has vacancies after phase 2C. There were 2 new sch for this yr intake: Punggol View & Punggol Green

You can try to goggle in Kiasu Parents for last yr P1 registration. If I remember correctly Punggol View is starting the MOE Kindergarden registration in May. It is best to goggle in MOE website for further details.
