Is there a trial class maths hub? Hows the program for P1?

We requested for it directly after the trial class. But even with P2 Class, my son didn't find it challenging. So, we dropped the class after 2 or 3 lessons.jedamum:
We were with Maths Hub @ Bt Batok for a very brief period. One aspect I like about this centre is they do allow kids to progress at their own pace. My son went for P1 trial class and was allowed to progress to P2 thereafter (subjected to the teacher's consent).
did u request to progress to P2, or did the teacher suggested? (your post was in 2010)
we intend to stop Math hub as we find it not rigorous enough, although they have a fun learning environment. when his teacher said that they are going to do multiplication next lesson and my boy said he knows his times tables, he said the teacher asked if he wants to teach the class instead. not sure if it was supposed to be a joke, but my boy was upset. to give the teacher the benefit of the doubt, maybe my boy sounded cocky....
How long has your son been attending Maths Hub? You might want to have a word with his teacher about his progress and discuss about skipping levels or joining the Maths Olympiad classes.
On hindsight, I feel that if a child has a strong preschool foundation on Maths, he/she probably doesn't need any enrichment classes in lower primary, especially P1 & P2.
Your son is so cute. I would think the teacher is just joking.
wow, you kid muz be maths genius. is he already doing secondary maths now since your post was years back?
I would say he is mathematically inclined and has a strong interest in the subject. Yup, he's working on secondary maths. I had the intention to prepare him to take the IGCSE Math exam last year, but my husband was against it. He prefers him to have a good and sound Math foundation. So, we are just following the Singapore syllabus at a leisure pace.

We do conduct trial classes at Maths Hub. However, an additional $10 will be charged per trial lesson and should the child continue with us in that same class, this $10 will be rebated into the course fees.
For our P1 IQ programme, the lesson outlines for the year are on the link as provided by jedamum. In our lessons, we will engage students with fun-filled activities to learn concepts and to instil interest in them to make them learn better.
For more information, please visit our website http://www.mso.com.sg .
Thanks Jedamum for providing the help! :udawoman: -
Dear jedamum,
We are sorry that your child was upset. Hope he feels better now. We are glad that your child finds the environment fun. We constantly review the progress of our students and should any child feels that the lesson is too easy, there is a chance of jumping class. This must be discussed further among the parents, instructor and the child himself. The approval is on a case by case basis. Please call us at 6425 5448 so we can discuss further on this issue.
Our IQ programmeโs main aim is to instil interest in Math for children, through fun-filled activities whereas our Fusion Math programme will be to prepare children for MO competitions through solving challenging questions.

We are sorry we only set aside 20 vacancies to that time slot, on a first come first serve basis. We cannot open another slot as this competition is administered by Australian Mathematics Trust. We hope for your kind understanding. Thank you. We :thankyou: for your continual support!
