Hi GSK, u're welcome. My DD is going P1 next year, not K2... so that's why I feel it's too late to start PFS i April / May which is during SA1. your DS is going K2 next year, right?

Thanks for your advise. Yes, you are right, teachers play an important role and getting a good teacher that suits your child is another luck. Next year is an important year, we have been switching from one school to another, hoping I won't change another school.
Just my opinion, I find tat is not too late to start PFS in April / May after completing the Liftoff.
Wish us all the best to have a suitable classes for your DD and my DS.
Thanks, gsk.[/quote] -
Hi 24hr-mum,
I did voice out to them and told them my concern on going P1 next year and not able to catch up with other components not cover in LiftOff. They said according to my DD's pace, she dun hv to go through PFS but she could take Success 1 concurrently, which we refused as it was really too heavy for her. We suggested to move on to Success 1 without completing LiftOff but they rejected our suggestion
So, we're left with no choice but to terminate.
Like your DD in K2, my DD can also take a book and read on her own now. For really interesting book, she will go on and on, else she'll stop after 1st chapter. I guess girls develop faster in general unlike boys.. I'll hv your same concern soon...24hr-mum:
hi gaagaa
thanks. i will chk if the teacher is new or not.
i was thinking LC phonics might be easy, or rather can self teach, that is why when i sent him to LC at 4yo, i didnt sign up cos they want him go some phonic class which childcare also teach but slower.
if ur girl finds it easy, voice to the teachr to re-assess and move on the PFS faster.
for icr, they also want me go phonics (icr prelim, not even icr bk) so i didnt sign up -

Oh I see, no wonder u r so worried. Yes, mine is K2 next year. But just my curiosity, does yr DD still need to attend the PFS after Liftoff since she is P1 next year, can't she go direct to Success 1 after Liftoff?
Dun worry lah, can see that your DD is quite independent and hardworking. Unlike mine, must \"force\" him to read, he reads 2 or 4 pages and not 1 chapter loh, see how slow progress he is, so your DD is very good liao.
Anyway, try to source for another one. There's sure has another good school.

The teacher is not bad. I asked my daughter and she says she likes her. My daughter is K1 next year and she's attending the LaunchPad class on Friday. But i am looking for another day as Friday don't work for me. My son is in P1 next year and waiting for S1 class to start in Jan. -
Thanks ibeat72 for your feedback. S1 will start in jan so you will send him for this class?

My kid who will be P1 next year has done the assessment & can attend Success. I am still considering if i should enrol LCentral.

Hi GSK, my DD don't have to attend PSF after LiftOff next year, but problem is LiftOff will be over only in end April 2011, by then it'll be too late for her to catch up with the P1 syllabus. The centre manager simply don't understand my concern and she didn't hear of that demanding school that my DD is going to...sigh...she left after that too...worked for about 2 mths nia...
Thanks for consoling me... I've found another school already
Hopefully I don't need to change anymore. Don't really believe in the ang mo anymore...GSK:
