Its snowing today in Jeju. Very cold. Pls bring extra heatpack when outdoors as the snowstorm plus the wind can be very chilling for children. Tomorrow will b going to Yeongpyong resort. Expect even colder weather there. Burrr!!!

This is how Nami Island looks in the winter. Actually nothing interesting abt this island unless you are a fan of Winter Sonata. Mt Sorak Park is many times better.

      Hi Winnieng,

The Everland fireworks I saw was on a Wednesday. Not sure if its on everyday.

      Hi Car118,

Try not to bring a stroller if you can. Can be a hassle with the carrying, folding/unfolding plus the uncertain terrain. Why dont you talk to your son he has to do the walking if he wants to go to Korea. Practise it here first! My 4-year gal did all the walking when we were in Osaka/Tokyu last Dec.

When I was there last mth, the 10 min fireworks starts at 7.30pm. But before that was the Electric Light Parade which has many big colourful lighted vehicles and dancers parading down the street. You shouldn't miss these events as your kids will 110% enjoy it.

One thing to note is that the night-time temp is very cold. It was -7 deg when we were there so be sure to have your full winter gears and remember to stand under the heater station (these are gas-fired fan blowing warm air) if you have young children as the chilling wind can be uncomfortable for them. Here are some photos to share:

      Hi My Pillow

I've PM you on your query.

For Nami Island, you need to take a ferry to reach there.....very fast, think take less than 3 minutes.
Here's a photo of the ferry terminal. In the background, you can see the zipwire tower.

We stayed at the High-1 Hotel. Took a package tour as everything all arranged from rooms booking to dinner arrangement, extra peace of mind especially with young children. Some photos to share.... My kids really had fun and we were lucky as it was also snowing there!!

I’m sure it’s gonna get colder when the full winter sets in in Jan onwards. If you are still in Seoul, try to spend some time in the Lotte Dept Store at Myeongdong. Range of goods is superb, prices are reasonable n the staff speaks English. Tried to buy from the streets vendors and you may get harsh service. Once I was ‘hit’ on the back and remarked that we were from North Koreans, (considered as insult as they look down on them). Now, better to shop in peace.

Lotte World is always crowded as it is in Seoul. For Everland, be sure to try the outdoor snow sleigh ride. There is one for adult n another one for children. Great fun!!! The usual light parade and fireworks are just as impressive!

Just got back from Seoul, Korea. Really cold there. Day temp is around -3 deg, Everland is abt -8 deg and High-1 Resort is abt -13 deg. Please remember to bring good wool thermal wear and socks ontop of the down jacket. Hat, scarf and moisturiser are a must together with heat pads for those with young children. Wear waterproof track shoes. Ear muffs not necessary as they are cumbersome and get lost easily.
