unless the primary school is SAP, otherwise higher chinese is only offered from p3 onward for the best 2 classes. but for anchor green i suppose they only chose the top 40 to form one best class from p3 onward.

i think theseday every school is clean and every teachers have to be friendly fearing of getting complained from parents which will utimately affect their promotion - correct me if i am wrong. but i am just having my reservation if this anchor green is really good…my son be in this school next year as well…(with the competition during enrollment in sengkang - supposedly as parent we do not have many choice).

    • RE: 2011 P1 Registration Exercise for 2012 In-Take

I apologies if my remark about ‘crap’ school has aroused many dissatisfaction.

But lets be truthful and get ‘real’ about it, if we do not categorized schools, then why there is such a common scene every year that popular schools are over subscribe even at phase 2b. Shouldn’t we parent just proceeds to the the less popular ones that do not require balloting…???
Maybe some will labeled this as ‘herd mentality’ but I suppose every parent in this forum are very ‘well learned’ in knowing which is good and which is bad. So let’s dispelled the hypocrisy that all primary school are on level field.

For all those parents at phase 2c (s), most if not all are in a state of being ‘a beggar cannot be a chooser’ that is why many of them in this forum will preached on the thoughts that there is no such things as ‘crap’ schools. But I suppose we cannot defy reality.

MOE has a common curriculum for all the primary school, but some will enhance it further while some will just do what is necessary and that distinguish a ‘good’ and a ‘crap’ school. I agreed fully that going to top or popular schools do not guarantee the success of a child, but as a parent, most of us do not want to deprive them of a ‘chance’… (If he/she cannot make it, then we do not live with regrets…in life it is better to be not ‘successful’ than to live with ‘regrets’)

When MOE implemented this policy of deciding the distance factor many years ago - I suppose we are still a nation of 3.5 mill population. It does make me wonder if there is consideration that influx of PR/New citizen put us native in a disadvantage position. Imagine yourself migrated to another country and by coincidence they followed Singapore system in the school enrollment for public schools - obviously you will sing praise that this is a fair country. But ‘fairness’ comes with a ‘price’ at the expense of the ‘native’. Will the native sing the same praise as you… come on lets be real…

once you have come to this stage of phase 2c (s) …the leftover are all those craps school (as those prefered ones are all being taken up in phase 2c balloting)…so no need to panick anymore …end of the day every child in singapore will get a place. it does not matter going to which leftover school i.e. ‘ABC PRIMARY’ SCHOOL OR ‘BCD PRIMARY SCHOOL’ AS ALL ARE EQUALLY CRAP…(this system is suck…) why pr and new citizen are entitled to apply in phase 2c …(did they served national service…otherwise why is their descendent on level field with our children in school registration).

i was told nan chiau don't entertain requests for a 'tour'. :scratchhead:

i am concerned about the school's general teaching environment.. how's the tolerance for children who don't conform, or even deem as naughty?

anyone in the school can advise?

when u have such a good enrollement and every parents of sengkang drooling to put their ds/dd into this school. i do not think the principal give a damn about orientation, open house, tour or whatsoever.

but i wonder how true. i heard that the school only prioritise their attention on the top 3 classess of each grade. it appear that they are investing their main resource on the best student rather than the weak one...probably they have to maintain their reputation of churning out good students. As compare to a new school which place emphasis on the general well being of all to make sure they achieve a high percentage of passing psle.
