No worries, the school has a bus transport service and arrangement can be made when the time comes

Hi Rata,
Mine is a girl :). What about yours? Haven't been to a school orientation before lol so do not know what to expect. Hope to see you and your child too. Were you a former student of FF or parent volunteer to enable you to get in through earlier phase?
We have no connections at so had to be at 2C.
Nice to chat with you :). Don't seem to have any other parents of child going to P1 who are in this forum

Hi finfinHi
I would prefer girls' school... and I stay at Bukit Timah... I would want to avoid balloting as much as possible
Hi finnfinn,
Don't lose heart, I'm sure if you research well and monitor the numbers on the last day of 2CS, you'll be in the position to avoid balloting as much as possible.
You're keen only on gals' schools, or keen on schools that are nearest to you? Perhaps with this information, there'll be many here who can advise you on possible options.
I am sorry to hear about you not getting into your choice school at 2C and feel your heartache but it is now passed and let's try another go with 2C supp. Take a look at the schools closer to your home which have more vacancies and try for those instead of those with lesser place if you do not wish to be subjected to ballot again. Looking at the list of schools it would be hard to get an all girl school around bukit timah. Even closest CHIJ at bukit panjang has only 13 places left so may need balloting. I think if not wrong for bukit timah, there are vacancies at bukit timah primary for now.
Like the earlier comments from this thread, you could try to secure a place in a school that has vacancies and try to wait list in the school you desire for your child. There's no guarantee but worth trying and who knows at a later stage there could be a place after all in the school you desired. Could even be when school term has started in the new year.
Hope you are able to get a place next week and don't lose heart. -
RE: CHIJ Our Lady Queen of Peace
Think if you are Catholic then you may get priority in the earlier phase when applying for convent schools so I guess your chances are better even if you are 4.4km cos you still have another chance at phase 2C should you be unsuccessful in the earlier phase.
Yes, this year they started with online registration. It helps I think for those who are not able to take leave or time off to go to the school directly to register. Either way, its your choice but going down to school, you can ask the staff for most updated status of the registration with regards to number of vacancies and applicants. Otherwise, will just see the updates from MOE website or here at kiasuparents
Hope you will get the school of your heart's desire! -
RE: CHIJ Our Lady Queen of Peace
est1892 - Thanks for info. Yes, i think with only 13 left, those outside of 2km will likely have to ballot. I was thinking of all girl school as have 2 girls but i don't have any near my place so took a chance on ballot for within 1km co-ed school near my place.
Went through ballot yesterday and thank God we managed to secure a place for our girl so the second should not have a problem.
ngla - Wherever possible try to get a place in school without having to ballot. I think school only allow earlier phase for old girl at same school and not another IJ? I am not sure about this. Best to call school itself. But if you can get a school which is closest to you, its best so save time on travelling
