RE: is it possible to make Maths enjoyable?
Possible, unless it’s taught to understand. My children used to be frustrated with it but it’s because there are too many to understand. I have to go to lengths to look for someone to help them with a breakthrough. Hope it helps and I encourage to build Maths from young, otherwise will have struggle with them when they get older, like me, especially now there is STEM programme, I believe our efforts will not be in vain. All the best!

RE: How to help your child improve Pri 1 Math?
Hi parents,
going through my crazy experience, I really encourage parents to do maths building since young age, otherwise, my mistakes and neglience has put my children through much challenges already. Good luck, hope everything find the most appropriate source/assistance/material for their children. -
RE: All About Bullying
Sigh… bullying can be a big part of academic and life balance. Sometimes, espcially having a more reserved child, you might not get a big picture about what is going on…

RE: Primary school Math
Oh yes, tough… haha… I used to think it’s okay until it’s my children turn then it became a big problem because it is so difficult. I have a headache. At that time, my child was struggling then I felt so much like a failed mom, because I have heard from others before but I just think they are too serious about sending their primary 1s or 3s for maths building and science building. Recently, this year and late last, I felt the pinch and I had to bark up to find assistance for my children… Especially the private tutors, had to change again and again. Not enough headache… Now, luckily not much headache with maths and science anymore, because I found a reliable source who at least teaches application otherwise I will have headache again. Return of examination papers makes me crazy too… Slightly helpless mom… but I still have headache with languages… Now, I am quite crazy connecting and sharing with parents otherwise, I miss out a thing or two and regret and fail as a mom again…

RE: Any specialised Maths tuition center?
Hi,
I am not very sure about any center but I was recommended to a private tutor who builds foundation maths, concepts application to intermediate then advanced mathematics. I have been engaged ever since and my child has from struggled to improvement and more stable and indepedence. Of course, results have also improved in staggered manner and managed to maintain itself at a high position. I sometimes think it’s luck too, but I am still not very luck in writing teachers, if parents have anything to share, I hope you could pm me and share these details. Thank you in advance. Urgent, my child is going to PSLE soon, it’s my fault not to prepare much earlier, hope parents understand my anxiety. Anyone…? -
RE: Is it necessary to tuition Math and Science at P3 ?
Hi,
I didn’t provide tuition for my boy for science until primary 5 where there was a dip in his results.
Plus, the school teacher in school was quite a disappointment so I had a big struggle with results. It depends, but I regretted quite a bit. I always think to give them time but now, I have a change of my mind. Discipline them from young so I searched high and low for assistance. I think a guidance is very sensitive issue, not only educationally competent plus my child, is so talkative so group is not an option for me.
I don’t want to go back to the struggle I had with my p5 but it was quite a mess. I think it’s trial after trial and I trust parents’ experiences more and now, I keep close contact with parents, to actually find someone who teach for learning and most importantly, help me keep an eye on my children’s progress and attitude. Like I said, cultivate and concept application.
Overall, personal preference. Good luck!
