      Dear parents,

I would like to find out more about this centre if anyone has sent your child to attend their class, especially for P6.

      Thanks

      Hi beemum,

Just saw your qns. Hope u've signed up your DS in Mar.

The W@W curriculum is well structured & I like that they get the students to actively generate ideas for each topic during lesson time & classroom engagement allows students to sight what other ideas were generated by other students. Every test time, students are trained to write within the time limit. The materials are very detail in guiding students in developing good writing skills.

However, amongst DS school frds, one kid did not benefit & his mum still find his writing very infantile. Another child found the teacher didn't effectively teach. Cannot mention name here. DS coach was fr Kings Arcade & I found her effective & good at spotting my DS problems & is effective in helping u'stand how to correct his weakness.

Think writing compo is fun and challenging with Ms Agnes' class & this 'competition' amongst students helps build awareness to improve. Just imo.

Thank you, Samsara....i agree with you, i had a good impression on current principal. First day of school, she was standing near the entrance and greetings to all students. My dd takes school bus back home. But there was one day, i picked her up. And again, i saw the principal was standing near the entrance. I do hope she will continue guide our girls with her wisdom and love.

      Hi Coco79,

My DD is in P4 this year, she's enjoying school pretty much, and I'm glad she's happy there too. As for teacher turnover, I dont see much of a change since her first year. In fact, during her first 2 years, she had the same teachers. And P3 n P4, same English, Chinese n Science teacher except for Math. As for Christian values, I was told by my DD that during assembly, the principal will read out verses time to time. Not everyday but she's doing it. She also encourages the girls to pray for P6 and which group thats going for competition. She's quite attentive to the girls too. I pick my girl up twice a week. And most of the time, I can see her walking around watching the girls leaving. Personally, I like this principal.

Her current teachers r really v attentive to the girls. I met them during the PTC and Lots of feedback from the teachers. Which shows that she cares alot and interact a lot with them. Comparing to her previous P1 & 2 teacher. I didnt like her as she's the sort to distribute the report book and like, 'Ya, your DD is doing fine. Thank you!'

I guess it really depends on the teachers character too. I hope your DD is enjoying school in SMPS. Btw, my DD's buddy is in 1 charity too. ; )

Thanks Samsara and mummy 88! So happy to hear this! Thanks again!

      [quote="mummy2008"]Hi Coco79,

My dd just joined P1 this year, so i cant give you feedback based on my personal experience. However, it seems more positive that i got from my church’s friends. I am glad that it’s a Christian school although i do not expect them to build my dd character (because it’s our responsibility)…after all it’s a school, like it or not…people will talk about academic =).

Hi mummy 2008! Thanks for your reply. I definitely understand character building is our responsibility and I agree. Just that if I hope the school can work with us hand in hand to build the young ladies up to be women of virtues. If I want academics, I think I will be looking at the top schools (that are known to produce top students) But I prefer their self esteem to be built on a little more than just grades. As they grow older, they will look towards their peers and teachers for validation. I certainly do not wish for her to have an idea that grades (or wealth) is everything. I hope the school will balance the inequalities of different backgrounds by placing focus on the pupils characters ( eg. helping one another rather than competing with one another, practicing kindness and all other desirable values)

Hope your girl is enjoying life at St Margaret’s.

Anyone has feedback, please feel free to share! Thank You!!!

Hi dear parents of St Margaret’s primary! I’m interested in this school after reading many good reviews about it being holistic and great in character building. However my niece who used to study there told me that current principal is more focused on academics and not character building. Another friend told me teacher turnover pretty high and doesn’t carry through school’s intended Christian values. Any comments on this? Thanks so much!

I had just enrolled my boy for their pre-nursery class @ east coast starting next year. Hopefully I made the right choice!!! :):) I nearly enrolled my boy to the one @ Derbyshire after going for the open house. The principal is friendly, school is new and environment is nice. But a week after I went for the open house, I received an offer of vacancy from East Coast. Considering the logistic wise, I decided to go for the East coast one... :):)

Meanwhile, any reviews/comments since the last one made was quite long ago.

Hi! Have u gotten a vacancy in the PM slot or the AM slot? I'm also considering this school but so far not many reviews recently?
