hi,
any parents registering their little piggies later this year for primary one (2014 intake)?
if yes can share which primary schools are u looking at? I'm hoping to get a feel of how popular certain schools are to decide if the risks are high or not.
personally, i am a SC and i have to register my dd in phase 2C. i actually stay within 1km of South View Primary but i feel the risks for SV are too high in my dd not getting a place there.
so i decided on the following schools
1) De La Selle Pri (1-2km)
2) CCK Pri (<1km)
3) Concord Pri (1-2km)
but should i just go for the safer option of CCK Pri instead or take a small risk of trying my luck at DLS cos last year DLS had balloting for SC within 1-2km.
hope to receive some replies fr other parents. Thk u

RE: De La Salle
Hihi,
I am thinking of sending my dd who is 4 this yr to dls..
Can any kind parents advise about pv at this sch cos I'm a non-catholic & stay within 2km from the school. Also does this school include daily prayer sessions & masses on special occasions such as cny, etc just like chij schools??
Btw my girl is currently at a church Kindy & I myself was from a ij school for 10years of my pri/sec sch life..
Sorry for all the questions & Thk u for all help given

Hi castle house,
Thks for reply
jus to check would u say tt cckps academicalluly wise is better than dls?? Cos can't help but notice u did not include dls in the 3 schools u mentioned
I would go enquire bout pv at the schools today.. Cos if it's 2yrs lik u say den I may b too late early..
Btw am I right to say pv will b more necessary at sv & dls cos it's easier to get into cckp base on past balloting history?? R we allowed to do pv at more than 1 school??
Also can anybody advise more bout pv at sv & dls?? Perhaps the selection & duties given & would it b difficult to get pv at dls if I'm not a catholic??
Sorry for having so manu questions & thks alot everyone

RE: All About Parent Volunteers (PV)
Hihi,
My child is born in yr 07 and I stay within 1km of South View which is my No1 choice for pri sch.
Pls kindly advise do I need to do PV to guarantee my child can get into the school? If yes when should I apply to do PV. Also what can I do to boost my chances of getting the PV?
Hope that parents who have done PV there can share their experiences with me.
Thks alot:) -
